What’s for dinner? This week’s menu plan (10/13)
Last week, Stomach Flu stopped by our house and stuck around way too long. Normally stinky, unexpected visitors would totally throw off our week. But last week one of our sanity savers was having a menu plan. I'm not kidding! Life got messy, but we still ate a real dinner every single night. There was something very reassuring about having a plan (and actually sticking with it). I'd highly recommend it (see why here). Here's what's for dinner at my house this week: Monday -- Quinoa Patties, Kale Salad, roasted sweet potatoes Tuesday -- Pita Bread with Hummus & Middle Eastern Vegetable Salad Wednesday -- Brown Rice & Black Beans, Keep Reading
What’s for dinner? This week’s menu plan (10/6)
I scrapped menu planning during the summer, and it worked great. Late nights, last minute plans, garden produce. Not having a plan just fits the way we live in the summertime. Once September arrived and school started, it's a different story. If I don't make a plan for dinner, I feel like I'm constantly scrambling at the last minute to pull something together. Meal times feel chaotic because they are often late. And then there's the whole grocery budget. When I don't regularly menu plan, I spend more on food because I am either running to the grocery store for a handful of ingredients or we are eating out more often. Menu planning just makes good Keep Reading

What’s for dinner? This week’s 2-person menu plan (5/19)
Menu Plan by FLNW reader, Natalie I currently live in North Central Florida. I was born and raised in Ohio. I have a daughter that lives in Ohio, and I made her a cookbook for Christmas last year which inspired me to start a blog, Creative Yummy Cooking 101, to share my recipes. My husband doesn’t like chicken so my meal plans are made up of beef and pork. There are only two of us since our kids are grown so all of my recipes only use one pound of meat and make approximately four servings. Most of my meals cost around $5.00 to make unless they contain a lot of cheese. I buy ground chuck when it’s on sale and stock up. I make bags with one Keep Reading
What’s for dinner? This week’s healthy, whole foods menu plan (5/12)
Menu Plan by reader Anita of San Diego, California This dairy-free California girl moved to Seattle to marry my wonderful husband, and the poor man has not seen cheese since! But I have turned him on to coconut milk ice cream. Inspired, he bought me the ice cream maker from Costco, and we churned out weekly sorbets from summer’s delicious fruits. The rest of the year is spent trying to eat healthy. His recent job change had us move to San Diego, lots of good produce here as well. Watching our pennies as always, my menu plans are based on what’s on sale at the grocery stores, as well as what’s in the freezer. I always grocery shop with a list of Keep Reading
What’s for dinner? This week’s clean-eating menu plan (4/28)
This Clean-Eating Menu Plan is from Kim of BeachReadyNow.com. When it comes to sticking to a clean eating regimen, it’s a great idea to plan a week of meals all at once. Be sure to incorporate as many foods you enjoy already instead of trying to force yourself to try too many new things at once. Allow yourself to have some of the things you love, just in smaller portions (I have wine on my list). The easier you make it on yourself, the better you’ll do. Next, create your grocery list. Clean eating doesn’t have to be expensive! I got all of the items shown above for just $57 at ALDI (which is somewhat similar to WinCo in the Pacific Keep Reading
