Here are the best deals at Safeway this week. The Safeway ad runs Wednesday-Tuesday in the Pacific Northwest. Find the full list of this week’s Safeway deals, including a printable list feature, here. Please note that at this time, the list does not include double coupons.
Hey, Safeway friends!
Brittany, our long-time Safeway contributor, has decided to blog full-time at her amazing site, Paper Trial Design and is no longer working on Frugal Living NW. I am also out-of-town right so I can’t cover the weekly match-ups right now.
While I work to find a solution to our “who is going to do our Safeway posts,” I invite all of you to comment on this post with the deals you find, what coupons to use, and what you’re finding in the store. It will be like a team-effort to get all of us through the time when I’m unavailable.
P.S. This should be the last week we have to do this type of Safeway post!
Safeway doubles many coupons in Oregon & SW Washington Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:

I don’t know if others will have the same experience I did but the programmer on the free Teddy Bear Bakes messed up in our favor.
They are on sale for $2.50 but programmed to subtract $3.99 so was I paid $1.49 to take the box.
I only had 3 other items and had my cash ready then was surprised when it was so much lower. I questioned because I didn’t want the cashier to get in trouble and he had a manager check and said was all OK.

This happened to me yesterday. It came out with $1.62 overage. Had I known this, I would have bought something else to absorb it. Instead, the cashier posted a $1.62 phantom grocery purchase to zero it out. It’s happened to me in the past @ Safeway when I had a catalina cpn for a free item. Their registers are programmed to take off the max amt for the item and not the Club price.

Just4U coupon center has a coupon in the snack section for a free box of Soft Teddy Bakes.
Howard says
Check your J4U account regularly, especially on Wednesday and Friday. Sometimes they sneak in a free item, mixed in with either the Personalized Prices or the Coupon items. This week I found a free offer for Teddy Bakes filled snacks. I loaded it to my card but couldn’t find it at the Barbur Blvd store. It’s valid till 3-31, so I’ll try another Safeway.

A&H cat litter $5 on Friday only, no limit. There’s a $2 cpn at the A&H website. Must register/logon, and they limit you to one print per year per cpn. Austere!

Is everyone checking their just4u accounts for personalized discounts? I have been getting excellent deals off my total order (20-30% off) for the last 3 weeks!

Progresso Soups 99cents. Should still be coupons out there. Always good to stock up on these.
I saw one in the coupon database for $1 off 3. If they double internet coupons at your store, it would be $1.47 or 49 cents each.
Howard says
Must buy 5 (or 10) to get that price. Although buying 6-9 might also produce a 99 cent price.

I did this today, bought 8 with four $0.50/2 from SS 1/29 that expire Saturday and used the doubler. (Also available are $0.50/2 from SS 2/26 not expiring.) I bought various varieties and the vegetable classics didn’t come up $0.99. Still a good deal but check if you try this.
