Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:

Decent price on best foods with the $1 coupon. Makes them 1.49. Also the 38 oz Heinz ketsup and 20 oz Heinz mustard are $2… Use the coupons from last week and get mustard for $1 and ketsup for 1.50.
I couldn’t help but notice the price comment about the chicken with bones – at that price it’s great because once you have eaten the meat you can make some good bone broth (just throw them in a slow cooker with some water). Good broth is like $2/quart so the chicken deal comes out to a great price if you make at least a couple quarts.

Costco has the pork loin for 1.99 lb plus an instant rebate of 2.50 per package. They also have their Kirkland 40 pack water 3.39 with a $1 instant rebate making them 2.39 for 40 bottles.

$10 off $50 this week, was in the mailed Red Plum and can put on card.
I also have a personal deal of $5 off $50. I emailed SAfeway to ask how much i have to spend to use both the $10 coupon and the $5 personal deal. Now, the question is, do i need $50-60 worth of groceries. Hmm…
Just a guess, but I’d say you’d get $15 off $50, with the usual restrictions.

Just wondering if it worked for you because I have a similar personalized deal.
I had a $6/$60 on my card and i bought $72 just to be safe. My logic was that the $6/$60 coupon said “after all store discounts” so I added $10 for the $10/$50 and $2 for the double coupon. I figured I needed $72+ for it to come off becuase my total would be $60 after the other two coupons.
