After calling Safeway’s corporate office, I received a call from the Woodstock store’s Assistant Manager. He said that Safeway had been having problems with printed coupons that were for free items.. He said that a mistake was made and that they should have accepted my printed coupons. The item I was buying was $1.49 and I had a $1.00 printed coupon and with the doubler, it would be free, which is OK. I will be going to the store tomorrow and they will be refunding the overpayment. WHEW! 😅

According to Customer Service at the Woodstock store, Safeway is not accepting any printed coupons. I found this out on Tuesday, after spending points to get Kellogg’s cereal coupons. I got 4 coupons at 850 points each. I expressed my displeasure in the Safeway feedback. I have yet to contact Kelloggs.
Anyone have any information about this?

Since when? I used paper coupons at my Safeway last week.

I am following up with Safeway’s corporate office. So far, they say that as long as there is a bar code and its not expired, the printed coupons should have been accepted. I will update as I learn more..

My Safeway in SW Portland will take (and double) just about anything.
I have heard of individual stores not taking printables. I was at a Safeway in MD four years ago, and they posted a sign that they’d not take them. At one time WinCo would not accept them because they were considered fraudulent.
On that note, if you find a store that will take them, you can get a couple of free Speed Stick deodorants this week. $.50 printable at the speedstick coupons page on their site (via coupons dot com), free if your store doubles. Unfortunately my printer temporarily went offline and I was unable to print any, then the site said I’d maxed out.

Thanks, Howard, for the Speed Stick info. I’m going to get some to donate.
