Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

I wonder why Betty Crocker requires that coupons be printed from a desktop computer. Anyone have any insight? I sent them a message.
Howard says
Not sure if this answers your question, but I print mine from a laptop. Some people/companies use the terms interchangeably.
Caro says
Thanks. I reinstalled their print program, but coupons still wouldn’t print. And, because it thought I had printed, the one I wanted is gone.
TIffany Kerns says
Do I need to buy 4 loaves of Orowheat to get that price or are there other mix and match items? also has anyone tried the Tresemme deal to see if the stylers work or just the shampoo/conditioner
Letty says
Tiffany,
I bought 2 tresemme conditioner ($8) and 1 pack of dove bar soap ($7). Paid $3.50 total.
The tresemme coupon states limit 2 identical coupon per transaction!!
Letty says
I submitted the tresemme conditioner and dove bar soap for and additional $1.50 savings on saving star app. There’s a few item from the save $5 spend $15 u can submit
Howard says
No, there are many of the Buy 4 items in the center of the weekly ad. Mix and match. I buy my bread at the Oroweat store in Beaverton; it’s $1.10 a loaf (slightly fresher costs more, $1.75 I think), or $.99 if you’re a dinosaur like me (over 62).
charolyn says
Well I had bad tresseme coupon news below-but here is some good coupon news-there is a $2/2 all or snuggle coupon coming in this sunday’s RP (I got one today in the free paper).
Will = 1.44 with double, little more, but definitely doubleable.
Howard says
Note that on the Crest toothpaste for $.99 deal, you now have to either load it to your card (J4U) or use the in-ad cpn. No limit! Otherwise it’s $1.39 each.
jodi says
The Daisy coupon is just for the squeeze bottles, which is probably not included in the sale. And all of the $5 Friday deals are available to load to card now, which is something they haven’t done in awhile either. Kind of nice.
Janene says
So on my Just4You there is the $10/$50 purchase. Are they cracking down on people making multiple trips using those coupons that come out monthly? Or are they discontinuing the paper version eventually due to people making multiple trips using all the $10/$50 they can find?
Jodi says
I have that too, but the paper coupon is it today too. I kind of like the electronic version myself- cuts down on the still occasional “it’s $50 AFTER coupons” checked argument that pops up since this is automatic. And you can have a few cards, so a few trips can still be had.
But the paper one is out today in case anyone was wondering.
Vee says
Hi, Jodi. Quick question, is the $10/$50 coupon in Wednesday’s paper? I thought it comes out on the first Tuesday of the month. Thanks.
Jodi says
It seems to be! I found it in the free paper you get on wed with the ads. We stopped getting the RG, but I’m assuming it was in that yesterday as well. So check the free paper or the Oregonian! Should be there 🙂
steph says
As Jodi said, it comes in the register guard on Tuesday but the free paper with ads on Wednesday.
Amy F;) says
Thank-you!
Howard says
It’s in the Weds Oregonian FoodDay, along with some other clipouts, including cases of bottled water for $1.99.
PJ says
Actually, it comes out in the Columbian on Tuesday and the Oregonion on Wednesday.
ruth says
the buy 4 save 5 on the Tresseme should not be affected with coupons. usually that discount is applied before the checker starts scanning coupons. We shall see.
charolyn says
would be nice–However…that is a unilever coupon & all of those (as stated on the coupon) are a limit of 2 like coupons per purchase-so will need to substitute different items in that group-or just use 2 coupons (4 suave shampoo at 2/$4 would work-there are suave coupons in the same insert-but not sure which ones would apply to this-would have to look at the bottles).
Heather says
I could not find the Quaker coupon anywhere in the 7/26 RP from the Oregonian. Did anyone else have this problem?
charolyn says
I have not seen us get quaker coupons for a looooong time!
Howard says
Not there, just looked.
Howard says
I did not have a jolly time looking for the unfindable popcorn cpn in the 5-31 Oregonian SS. Also, I haven’t seen the weekly ad yet, so I’m curious whether these “buy 4” deals are mix and match, or must you buy 4 of the same product?
charolyn says
Thanks -I was just going to look for those next-drats, but I didn’t remember seeing those, so was surprised there may have been a coupon.
Usually they are mix & match.
Howard says
I’m low on popcorn, so I just went ahead and paid the 99 cents for a 3-bag pack (the 4-bag packs have really tiny bags and are not as good a deal). Walgreens sometimes sells Act II single bags for $.25, but haven’t seen that for some time.
I did notice this morning that the buy 4 deals ARE mix and match. Was hoping for a current Ken’s cpn, but evidently there are none.
Linda says
I predict jolly times for you in the very near future. The unfinable has been found. Enjoy!
Howard says
??? Found where? No matter, if it expires today, I’m not venturing outdoors in this heat.
Linda says
Where? Watch your U.S. mail, probably tomorrow.
Howard says
Thanks, just got it a few minutes ago, before I read this. You are a sweetie! And I also printed two that I found on the cpn database above.
Linda says
You’re welcome.
Howard says
Never mind, I used the coupon database to find it at the happynewyou site and printed 2 that are good for a month. Shoulda looked there in the first place before I bought one the udder day.
My daughter is a Safeway employee and we share a club card. We get 10% off year-round on store brands and for July, we also got 5% off on all national brand products. Hope they repeat that! My Crest toothpastes resulted in a negative total, and their self-checkout register gave me money back.
Jan says
The Activia coupon can only be printed once.
Beth says
It does say only once a month but when you click on the print button it comes up as a PDF so you can choose how many prints you want.
DeAnn says
I was able to print it twice. Each coupon did have a different number under the scan code, so it isn’t like I just made a copy of the same coupon.
