Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

If someone reads this and happens to be in Newport, Oregon today — I have three $10/$50 that I cannot use. There is a nice Safeway in Newport!
Holly says
I’m sure this has been answered before, but I can’t seem to find it. In regards to the $10 off $50 coupon, if I’m reading the coupon right, it excludes club prices, so when I check out, does the cashier need to enter the coupon before I enter my phone number and the club prices apply, or will the coupon automatically recognize the original prices and apply. I ran into this problem at checkout today, because my total after phone number was $30, but it was originally $60. I want to avoid confusion in the future and do things in the correct order, if needs be. Any help appreciated!!! Thanks saving savvy friends!
Howard says
I rarely if ever use this cpn, but I’ve read enough posts to say this. Swipe your club card or give the phone # any time during the transaction (usually after at least one item is scanned if you’re swiping) and hand in any store cpns. The resultant total must = or exceed $50 and excludes milk and a few other things. Any store cpns on your J4U/Safeway card also come off that total. Then hand in the $10 off $50, then finally any mfr cpns and the doubler if you’re using one.

C&W frozen veggies are $1.67 -$1Q =.67cents. Lucky charms and original cheerios are still $1.49 ea when you buy 4. -.50ipQ=.99cents ea, Crest toothpaste deal is still on making them free, and cooked perfect frozen meatballs were only a dollar after $1.50Q.
Howard says
Good find on the C&W veggies. I caught it a few hours ago but dozed off before I could get online and post it here. The $1 cpn is in 3-29 SS, so they are $.17 with doubler. Thanks for the reminder on the Crest.
Howard says
Re the meatballs: I’ve had them before and they’re pretty good.
There were $1.50/1 cpns in 1-11 SS (exp 4-12) and 3-22 SS (exp 6-22). Jantzen Bch and SW Barbur Blvd stores were sold out this morning. I got a raincheck.
Re Crest: Jantzen Bch had none; Barbur had a few. Crest is free if you buy 3 and use $3/3 cpn; or if you buy 2 and use $1.50/2 cpn and doubler.
The veggies were in pretty good supply at both stores today. I don’t expect them to last real long with Easter imminent.
Howard says
Downtown Lake O store had a good supply of meatballs and Crest toothpaste this morning. Paid $1.94 for 4 bags of meatballs and 6 tubes of Crest.

Just4U website change: You can still sort out personal deals by clicking on the left hand side menu, but the default is that they are mixed in with the coupon center deals. The good news is that the coupons now say Store or MFG at the bottom so it is easy to plan coupon matchups.
Jan says
And be sure to update your phone app before heading off to shop. Mine just kept showing last week’s expired deals until I got home and searched for updates. The update screen is going to take some getting used to, although I found a drop down menu that lets me just look at personal deals like the old app did.
Howard says
The J4U site changed today. Personalized deals are now incorporated into the regular coupon specials, and everything is now on one long page instead of being divided.

I guess that must have been our April Fools treat. I only wish it had gone back to its original state the next day.
Sarah S. says
Do you know if the $10 off $50 coupon is in this weeks ad?
Shelley says
I think so. I got one today in the “freebie” food day section of the Oregonian. Whoo hoo!
Sarah S. says
Wahoo!!! Well that makes my decision on where to do the bulk of my Easter Dinner shopping 🙂
superjaz says
I know right? We also got a small chest freezer, that needs hams!
Howard says
Grocery Outlet has spiral-cut half hams for $1.69. Other stores all seem to be $1.99.
