Here are the best deals at Safeway this week. The Safeway ad runs Wednesday-Tuesday in the Pacific Northwest. Find the full list of this week’s Safeway deals, including a printable list feature, here. Please note that at this time, the list does not include double coupons.
Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. Safeway is inconsistent from store to store about doubling internet printed coupons. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

Do you think we will get the $10 off $50 coupon on Tuesday 10/28 or 11/4?
Howard says
Good question. Usually it’s the Tuesday closest to the first of the month (or so I think), but this month the first falls smack in the middle of the ad week. My guess is 10-28 (or 10-29 FoodDay Oregonian).
Howard says
The Lance 8-pack crackers are 3 for $5 all week. If you can score a $1.50 cpn from the 10-5 SS (my Oregonian didn’t seem to have them, but I got 3 from Mom’s Florida papers), they will be free or MM with doubler. Also, Barbur Blvd/SW Portland has Campbell’s Chunky soups for $.99, limit 4 per visit. I found a $1/2 Healthy Request cpn at campbellskitchen.com site. Some Chunky soups have the Healthy Request logo on them and are pictured on the cpn. You can print up to 2 of these.

Thank you Howard! I have a few ip’s from a few weeks ago when someone mentioned using them at Walmart. I was hoping to find a better deal than the $2.50 price. This is perfect!
Howard says
If you’re referring to the crackers, I used 2 of my 3 cpns today and got $.33 overage on each one. Ended up paying zippo for 2 Lance, 4 Campbell’s Chunky, 1 Dole garden soup. Soup and crackers–imagine that!
Heather says
I ordered a bunch of these coupons. We like free or cheap crackers! 🙂
Howard says
Even though I’d probably never buy cpns, I know many people do, and that’s cool. But it’s illegal to sell them; someone told me her seller claims they are free and charges for the labor and shipping. Just remember to use the crackers in a reasonable time. I recently threw out a bunch of unopened Lance PB crackers that were too old and tasted horrible once I opened a pack.
Jenna says
The Marie Callandar pies are $5 on Friday and there is a .75/1 coupon that can be doubled. $3.75 for a pie is a pretty good deal, especially wit the holidays coming up.
Sara says
Howard,my Fred Meyer does, but you have to tell the cashier to ask for a manager to teach them how….:/
Howard says
Only the Prego alfredo cpn is $.40/1. Other sauces are $.40/2.
PJ says
The m/c for the Hershey’s in 9/28 SS has “do not double” on it. For those who don’t want to try and double the printed m/c, there is a 1.50/3 in the 10/20 SS that can double.
TJ665 says
At the Sandy Blvd store, I found $2/3 peelies on the Hershey branded bags and they can be doubled.
Kim says
The checker at my Safeway said I cannot use a manufacturer coupon on a product if the coupon exceeds the item’s price. She would not adjust the value of the coupon. Is this standard Safeway policy? Thanks.
yvonne says
It should be ok per coupon policy 1 below. But if you don’t carry the printout there will always be cashiers ignorant and unwilling to confirm with store manager.
1. We will redeem coupons only for the specific items included in our customer’s purchase transaction. The redemption value will be as stated on the coupon, unless that value yields a final price for such item less than zero; if application of the redemption value yields a price less than zero, the coupon will be redeemed only for the amount that yields a zero price (our customer cannot net a cash credit or payout from a coupon purchase).
Howard says
Very good of you to point this out. Fred Meyer policy seems to be to refuse to price-adjust a mfr cpn to the item price. I need to revisit their corporate policy to make sure about this.
Cheryl Bixby says
Howard, I was at Fred Meyer and found a few mini boxes of the new cheerios with protein on clearance for 45¢. I had three of the 75¢ coupons for any box. Cashier rang them up. I want sure if it would go thru. She just typed in the 45¢.
Pretty cool. 3 little boxes of cereal.
JHollyhock (aka Jennifer H.) says
You were very fortunate Cheryl. My Fred Meyer has flat out refused to adjust coupons for things that are on clearance. I even spoke to a PIC but she told me she would lose her job if she did it…
Howard says
From FM’s website:
If the coupon amount exceeds the final cost of an item (whether it’s the current price of the item or after discounts or other coupons are applied), the coupon amount may be adjusted to match that cost.
(But there’s also a line that allows the store mgr to accept/decline/limit any coupon.)
