Safeway Shopping Trip: FREE plus extra gas rewards!!
Check out what I scored at Safeway for free after coupons & catalina. I didn’t realized that the granola bars would generate a bonus of 48 gas rewards! I have a personal price of $1.99 on the salad kits so not everyone will be able to do this deal this week. There might be two unpictured salad kits that have already been consumed. I love when vegetables can be had for free!

Coupon newbie here, when you write “get $3 catalina”, is this something you are applying to that shopping trip or for future use? Sorry if this is a dumb question!
Edie says
A catalina is something you use on a future shopping trip. Not a dumb question at all. 🙂
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Edie got it. It is for a future shopping trip. That is why we have a line for how much you actually pay first. Then we consider the Catalina into the savings at the end even though you won’t use it until later.

There was an ad in one of this week’s coupon inserts showing all the products that qualify for the 5x gas rewards points.

Love the free produce! I have the 1.99 kits & $2 off a $12 produce purchase. 🙂

I can’t print the coupons from Safeways booklet too. They sometimes have the booklet in the produce dept., but my store is in L Oswego and they still have the Nov. booklet out.
Howard says
See above.

Why do these coupons never print right for me. I usually end up with either a blank page with a line all the way around or a black page. I prefer the first. 🙂 Anyone else experience this and find a solution for it?
Margie says
The salad coupons are also available in the magazine located in most produce sections of Safeway stores.
Howard says
Same for me. I figured out how to make it work. Instead of clicking on Print This Month’s Coupons, click on Safeway magazine. Then scroll down to page 4 and print that page only. You will get 4 different cpns; I haven’t figured out yet how to print just the Fresh Express one.

I have never been able to print just one of these coupons either. If you even figure it out please share. It drives me crazy! 🙂

I usually print to pdf at the beginning of each month and keep a copy of each month’s coupons on my desktop. Maybe that would work for you? I’ve had these coupons mess up on me before too.
Kaela says
What happens if the coupon value is higher than the product? My personalized price on the salads is .99cents. The coupon is 2$/1.
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
They are supposed to adjust the coupon down, but there are times when I have accidentally gotten overage. However, I think the salads you have for $.99 are probably the “blends” and this coupon is for the “kits”. I’ve never seen the kits go cheaper than $1.99 in any circumstance. But I could be wrong here since I can’t see your account.
Kaela says
Ok Thanks. I will double check what I have.
Donna says
Get other fresh produce in your cart to cover the overages from the $2/1 salad coupons. For example, I also got the $1.99 personalized price and I would buy 5 bags of salad at $1.99 and a banana. The $2/1 coupons would scan in fine as long as you have other fresh produce in your cart. And I ended up paying the price of the banana less $0.05 from the (5) $2/1 salad coupons.
Kim says
Isn’t the fifth box the regular sale price of $2.50 since the $1.49 price has a limit of four? Still a good deal though.
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Technically you are right Kim! But I’ve learned that when you load the coupon to your card AND use the paper coupon from the ad, you can get twice as many at the coupon price. I used that trick here. 🙂
Kim says
Good to know – thanks!
Stacy says
I was surprised about the gas also. Used the free 12 pack coke coupon. Got 4 12 packs for $6 and got 60 gas rewards.

Nice!
