Safeway: Brittany’s Shopping Trip $13.82!
Have I mentioned that I am a big fan of the $10/$50 coupon that comes out the first week of every month in the Food Day section of the Oregonian? The $10/$50 coupon is always good starting Tuesday which is great because you have the option to use it on two different sale cycles. I was prepared to let it go this Tuesday until the free Fresh Express salad deal surfaced making it easy to whip up a great scenario. I actually purchased 12 (no shelves were cleared I promise) but four bags didn’t make it home because I shared with a friend. I am especially excited about this trip because the maple syrup is the real deal and was priced at $17.99 alone which is a decent price to begin with.
Safeway doubles most manufacturer’s coupons to to $.50 each in Oregon and SW Washington.

You’ll love it. My husband doesn’t have a deep appreciation for it so I still buy him Mrs. Butterworths. I’m not wasting the good stuff 😉

I could not find this coupon in any of our papers in town today. I have never had this problem…

I have not been able to use the $10 of $50 prior to having all my Safeway coupons and deals being taken off. Please share your secret, I want to save as much as possible. I love reading how people are able to save so much.
Thanks!
Linda

The $10/$50 works after Safeway deals and before manufacturer’s coupons. I am thinking you probably mean before manufacturer’s coupons though. I had trouble a few times at my store years back, but I complained on their facebook page about it and haven’t had trouble since. I don’t know if my complaining helped or if my store just got more knowledgeable about their policy and more coupon friendly. Does anyone else have any tips?

You are right. Today I use the 10/50 after all my safeway deals were taken off then was able to use to manufactured coupons that I doubled. So as long as I save my manufactured coupons and doubler after the 10/50 I should be able to save lots too! Thanks for the advice.

I usually hang on to my coupons until they have scanned everything then I hand over just my Safeway coupons and my $10 off $50 then after they scan those I give them my manufacture coupons. If they give you any trouble you can show them the $10 off $50 coupon – it states on the coupon that it excludes Safeway Club savings and Safeway Store coupons, but it doesn’t mention manufacture coupons anywhere (It doesn’t say you can’t use manufacture coupons after the $10 off $50)

print coupon policy and give it to cashier/manager. After that you should be fine. Had same problem at favorite store but cleared that out with manager.

Actually, I have had cashiers scan the $10 coupon after all of my manufacture coupons and it still comes off correctly even if my manufacture coupons bring the total under the $50. Just make sure that you reach the $50 after all safeway coupons, doubl’r and e-coupons.
