Safeway: $5 Friday deals for 8/1/14 (Tide, Dreyers, Nature Valley, Luvs)
Here are this week’s best $5 Friday deals at Safeway:
UPDATE: Safeway coded the in ad coupon to be a manufacturer’s coupon so both will not work together. I think the in ad coupon should actually be coded as a store coupon but most Safeway’s will not push both coupons though. Ugh!

I know its after the fact but the coupons were just loaded into the system wrong. My husband is an employee and said they were supposed to honor them anyway because of the error.

Safeway corporate says J4U with discount ($2 off) are now manufacturer coupons and J4U lower prices ($1.99) are in store coupons.
Heather says
So from now on no P&G products will ever be decent deals there because there are no double deals. This just makes it harder and harder for us to get good deals. It is a little discouraging.
Lee says
I gave my J4U opinion to the comment section at the Safeway corporate site. That should get ignored!

I found an awesome cashier at the SW Jefferson st in Portland. He made it work for me and my girls(my 8 & 10 year old are totally into couponing, yea me!). Got 3 for $.50 each. Score 🙂
Lee says
Is that cashier still employed? 🙂

As I wrote on the other Safeway page a couple days ago, if you log onto the J4U site and click on the Tide $2 cpn (the bold type), it is clearly a mfr cpn. If they’d also printed that info on the one in the weekly ad, there wouldn’t be so much angst. $2.50 (Friday) is the best price anyone should be getting on Tide.

What you really want to say is, “I told you so”. 🙂

I did mine yesterday when it was $5.99 because I didn’t think any would be left by the time I got off work today. The coupons worked fine yesterday both the Safeway ad one and the mfu + a doubler. I got mine for $1.50 which I am very happy with. I will try again today and see if they change their story. I still have a couple $1.50 Tide coupons from the internet.

Same thing in vancouver. But it makes no sense, as the paper $2 off coupon does not say mfc. It just says no digital coupn

Same here in Eugene. The J4U Tide is coming up as a mnf.coupon. But in the meantime I am rolling my catalina from Post and stocking up on Post cereal!

I had the same problem at Canby Safeway. They get reimbursed for the MFC and that’s the one they took!! So frustrating.

Highland safeway WILL NOT honor coupons to get tide for .50 today. They will only accept either add coupon or manufactuer coupon, not both
