Scarves: The perfect affordable fall and winter wardrobe accessory
Lemon Squeezer (great gift idea under $10!)
Are you looking for an inexpensive gift for someone who likes to cook? Then check out this handy kitchen gadget. I absolutely love my Progressive International Lemon Squeezer. I also own a fancy juicer attachment for my KitchenAid stand mixer, but it rarely sees the light of day. This lemon squeezer, on the other hand, gets pulled out several times a week. I use it for both lemons and limes; it quickly presses out fresh juice, while separating the pulp and seeds. A lemon squeezer is not only fun to say, but it's also perfect when making anything that calls for a small amount of citrus juice, like homemade dips, marinades, or salad dressings. Keep Reading

What’s for dinner? This week’s menu plan (11/5)
Menu Plan by Brittany Confession: I have not menu planned in over a year. I fell off the bandwagon. I used to rave about how amazing it was so I am climbing back on, starting this week. It makes such a huge difference to have a plan before 5 o'clock rolls around. I had to fight the urge not to put soup on the menu every day this week. What is it about the rain that makes me want my dinner in hot steamy liquid form? Here's what's for dinner at my house this week: Monday -- Cheesy Green Chile & Potato Chowder Tuesday -- Pumpkin Waffles (I skip the ginger because I think it ruins most things, not a fan) Wednesday -- Spaghetti Thursday -- Keep Reading
What’s for dinner? This week’s vegetarian menu plan (10/22)
I always feel stuck in a boring dinner rut by the end of summer and inspired to start cooking again with the arrival of fall. These cool, drippy days make me happy to be in the kitchen. This vegetable-based menu plan is a mix of fresh flavors and comfort food. Meat could be added to any of these menus, but I promise, they are filling enough to stand on their own! Here's what's for dinner at my house this week: Monday -- Roasted Tomato Basil Soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, sliced apples Tuesday -- Sesame Almond Brown Rice Balls, Raw Tuscan Kale Salad Wednesday -- Leftovers Thursday -- Tuscan Vegetable Soup, No-Knead Bread, sliced pears Friday Keep Reading
What’s for dinner? This week’s menu plan (10/15)
My husband threw me for a loop this week. He's doing a juice fast. It throws off my dinner groove. I can't make anything awesome or I have to listen to him complaining about how amazing the food smells. So I'm left with no motivation to cook and it's hot dogs and mac and cheese with a few days of pancakes. I'm resisting the urge to bail on dinner and the kids and I are going to eat like normal. He can bury his face in a handkerchief. Here's what's for dinner at my house this week: Monday -- Orange Chicken with Broccoli and Rice Tuesday -- Gyros (I use 1/2 turkey and lamb) with homemade pitas, hummus, olive and Tzatziki sauce Wednesday -- Turkey Keep Reading
What’s for dinner?: This week’s menu plan (10/8)
This week I'm getting off easy. We're headed up for a weekend away at The Resort with my parents. (Remember that Sharing Spree deal?) I'll gladly take a few nights off from dinner. This week will not inspire any of you. I'm going with repeats. But I am trying some new breakfast recipes. Here's what's for dinner at my house this week: Monday -- Teriyaki Chicken with Udon noodles (my kids are getting sick of this. I have all the ingredients. They are eating it.) Tuesday -- Turkey Meatloaf with Yukon mashed potatoes & broccoli Wednesday -- Taquitos (Again! Seriously, they might just go on strike from dinner or start cooking their own.) Thursday Keep Reading
