Nordstrom: HUGE sale on NYDJ jeans (+ why you should embrace high-waisted denim)

Last summer, I gushed about how JAG pull-on jeans had transformed my life. Up until my discovery, I thought the only way to deal with my muffin top was to lose weight. To my delight, was I wrong. I just needed to stop buying clearanced trendy mid-rise jeans and embrace the high rise.

I now don’t care if my pants go all the way up to my bra line as long as my sides are smooth and my uterus padding is shoved back to it’s pre-2004 state.

Over the last year, I’ve searched for other brands that offer legit high-waisted pant options, and probably the most popular option out there is Not Your Daughter’s Jeans. NYDJ’s have now joined JAG in my regular rotation, but boy, are they spendy.

Remember, you’re not tucking your shirt into these pants. No, ma’am. The tuck = mom jeans. Modern high-rise pants are made to look regular when you wear an un-tucked top.

NYDJ ‘Marilyn’ Stretch Straight Leg Jeans — $79.98 + FREE shipping (reg. price $114)

Available in both regular and petite, these would be a great work option if you can wear denim, but can also easily be dressed up for a night out.  Flattering dark wash with a classic straight leg.  Reviewers suggest to size down because they have a nice stretch to the fabric.

NYDJ ‘Barbara’ Stretch Bootcut Jeans — $79.79 + FREE shipping (reg. price $114)

These are a black stretch denim that would be another great option for the office!  4.5 out of 5 stars and reviewers again recommend sizing down.

NYDJ ‘Ami’ Stretch Skinny Jeans — $89.78 + FREE shipping (reg. price $134)

These are a fantastic, classic skinny jean with the perfect amount of stretch.  Waistband hits at navel, as with most NYDJ denim and reviews again suggest sizing down.

NYDJ ‘Nichelle’ Release Hem Stretch Ankle Jeans — $93.79 + FREE shipping (reg. price $134)

These are a great length and the released hem is super trendy!  Even for taller women, this length helps elongate the leg.
