Whole Foods Shopping Trip $21.15
Check out Laurie’s score at Whole Foods for $21.15. Before coupons & Ibotta the subtotal was $72.14. That is a savings of over $50! She was actually planning on the total being much less because the cashier denied overage on a few items. To our knowledge the overage would have been legit, but sometimes things don’t go as planned at the register. Laurie is contacting a manager from Whole Foods to find out if she should have been given overage. Which brings me to a question: what do you do when things don’t go as planned at the register?

WOW! Love this post! My son requires a special diet so I just started shopping at Whole Foods. What is the best way to find online printables or emailed coupons for the kinds of foods sold at Whole Foods? And which inserts (SS, Red Plum) contain coupons for the kinds of foods sold at Whole Foods? I must be missing them when I browse the inserts… 🙁

OK, here’s the breakdown of what I purchased with coupons, a few items I paid full price for because we needed them, and I find Whole Foods to have great prices on some (not all) everyday items our family uses.
1 Dozen Eggs $2.99. Used a coupon from the Chinook Book (Free Eggs when you spend $10 at Whole Foods)= $0
4 DeBoles Rice Lasagne $10. Used 2 $1/2 WFQ’s and 2 $1/2 MQ’s
= $6
6 So Delicious Yogurt $9. Used 2 $1/3 WFQ’s and 6 $1/1 MQ’s =$1
6 Noosa Yogurt $11.94. Used 6 $1/1 coupons= $5.94
4 Imagine Soup $8. Used 4 $1/1 WFQ and 4 $1/1 MQ = $0
3 GoodBelly Probiotic Shots $6. Used 3 $1/1 MQ = $3
Orgain Kids Drink $1.14. Used 1 $1/1 WFQ and $1 ibotta rebate = $0 ($.86 mm after ibotta)
I and Love and You Dog Food $16.99. Used $5/1 MQ and $10 ibotta rebate= $1.99
Some of the Whole Foods Q’s I used are from the November/December Whole Deal (they don’t expire until Jan 31) and Some are from the current issue. The MQ’s I used were printables I found online or that were emailed to me, and Insert coupons. Hope that helps everyone!

my #1 role if something is going really wrong and cashier isn’t helping or is rude I say no thank you and ask for my coupons back.
Monday at Safeway the cashier did MC before the 10 off and tried to tell me couldn’t use it yet.
I asked “oh did you do the MC first? The print on the coupon says after safe way coupons” and such told him to scan it anyway, worked fine and he was like”oh they must have just changed that”
I didn’t say no no thru haven’t, must have been doing, things wrong for a looong time

Find a cool cashier! The Orgain is 50% off so that makes it $1.14 and then there’s a $1 off coupon in the book! With the Ibotta, you get $1 off. So the overage is like 86 cents!

I learned early on (from the frugalliving class) & it has been a big help, that when it doesn’t work as expected-whether it was legit or not I nicely say-OK you can just put that back. If I do think it should have worked I will try at another store-or with a more knowledgeable cashier another time.
Occasionally I may try giving some info if they just don’t know-but I never push it. I just remember that there are MANY, MANY deals that work out just fine & I have gotten plenty 🙂

Any way we can get a run down of these deals? … I love whole foods and would love to save money when I shop there 🙂

Smile and say “no big deal,” then avoid this cashier next time. The only time I insisted my case was at Safeway when the cashier refused to scan my $10/$50 before the manufacture coupons. The guy still remembers me!

I had the same problem at Albertson’s with the $5 off $25 coupon. I had never been to this cashier so I first handed her the $5 coupon & she scanned it. Then I haded her all my other coupons. She scanned those & then sought the advice of a Manager, who happened to be buying something in another line himself. So, not only was she holding up me & my line, she held up his line too. He said to proceed with the transaction since the coupon made no mention that it had to be use after other coupons and since she had already rung me up….but that I couldn’t do it that way again. I just stood there patiently and apologized to those behind me in line. Hopefully the Manager later told her to use common sense and not hold up two lines! I definitley won’t go to her line & perhaps may just frequent another Albertson’s store!
