How to Watch Blazer Games without Cable
Did you know that you can watch Portland Trailblazer basketball without cable? And new for 2019, there are several streaming options available to you starting as low as $45 per month with NO CONTRACTS. These streaming services also allow you to watch Blazer games on your phone or tablet when you’re away from home!
Here’s how you can watch Blazer games, including the playoffs, without Comcast cable service.
If you’re in the Pacific Northwest, Blazer games are shown on four channels:
NBCSN (the majority of games + the first round of the playoffs)
TNT (some games + some playoff games + access to Charles Barkley’s hilarity)
ESPN (a few games + advanced round playoff games)
ABC (a few nationally televised games + advanced round playoff games)
Here are your Blazer streaming options:
YouTubeTV — $49.99 per month
YouTubeTV has NBCSN, TNT, ESPN, and ABC, so you’ll be able to watch all Blazer games, including the playoffs, with this one service.
You can steam YouTubeTV on your TV, computer, or any device with the app on up to three screens at a time. Your monthly subscription also comes with unlimited cloud DVR space so you can record games when you’re not home and watch them later.
With your YouTubeTV monthly subscription, you will also have access to 70+ broadcast and cable channels.
There are no contracts and you can cancel your subscription at any time.
Our expert opinion: YouTubeTV seems to be the PERFECT streaming option as you get to watch all the Blazer games with the service. We also love that you can stream on up to three devices at once, BUT you can have up to six individual accounts (users) with your membership — everyone gets their own login and individual DVR library. This means you have have, say, four users. Three people can watch the game live while another one records it to watch later.
Unless the streaming capabilities of YouTubeTV sucks rocks, we’ll be using it this season.

Hulu with Live TV — $44.99 per month
Hulu with Live TV has NBCSN, TNT, and ESPN. You will have to use an antenna to watch games televised on ABC if you live in the Portland Metro area as Hulu does not have the ABC broadcast channel.
You can steam Hulu with Live TV on your TV, computer, or any device with the Hulu app on up to two screens at a time. Your monthly subscription also comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR space so you can record games when you’re not home and watch them later.
With your Hulu with Live TV monthly subscription, you will also have access to all of Hulu’s regular stuff, including recorded network TV shows from ABC, NBC, and FOX plus original and children’s programming.
There are no contracts and you can cancel your subscription at any time.
Our expert opinion: Hulu with Live TV’s price is right, but we tried it two seasons ago and it buffered like crazy. So much so that we dropped the service and switched to fuboTV. The product may be better now, so it’s not a bad idea to do the free 7-day trial.
We also feel like the two screens at a time limit is well, limiting. There have been times when we’d like three screens streaming at once, especially if one of us are watching the game from our phone when we’re not at home.

fuboTV — $54.99 per month
fuboTV has NBCSN and TNT. You will have to use an antenna to watch games televised on ABC. You have no option for ESPN with fuboTV so you’ll have to hack into someone’s cable account to watch Blazer games through the ESPN app or you can pay $4.99 per month to get legit access.
You can steam fuboTV on your TV, computer, or any device with the app on up to two screens at a time (you can pay an additional $5.99/month for a third screen). Your monthly subscription also comes with 30 hours of cloud DVR space so you can record games when you’re not home and watch them later. It also has a 72-hour look-back feature which allows you to watch any game on-demand within three days even if you forget to record it.
With your fuboTV subscription, you also get access to a TON of other sports channels, including: NFL Network, NFL RedZone, FOX Sports Networks, NBC Sports Networks, the Olympic Channel, and the Pac 12 Network.
There are no contracts and you can cancel your subscription at any time.
Our expert opinion: We used fuboTV all last season and the service is excellent. The 72-hour look-back feature is perfect as we often start watching the game later in the evening to be able to fast-forward through the commercials. The downside is that fuboTV doesn’t have ESPN so you’ll miss a handful of games throughout the season and a lot of the playoffs. It also only allows two screens to stream at a time (they do have a $6/month upgrade to add a third screen).
fuboTV is a good option if you really want the Pac 12 Network to watch college football games. You can get fuboTV to watch football now and then switch to YouTubeTV when the season ends.

If you live outside the Pacific Northwest
If you live outside the Northwest, you can watch all the games with Amazon Prime’s NBA League Pass channel. You need to be an Amazon Prime member and you’ll pay $28.99 per month or $199 for the entire NBA season. (You can check to see what NBA games are on blackout for your zip code here.)
If you don’t have Amazon Prime, you can sign up for League Pass through NBA.com. You have three options with League Pass:
- One-team pass — $17.99/month or $119.99/season
- All-team pass — $28.99/month or $199.99/season
- All-team, commercial-free pass — $39.99/month or $249.99/season
The commercial-free pass sounds great, but there will still be commercial breaks — you’ll just have a blank screen instead of the commercials, right?
Apparently the NBA app has buffering issues, so if you have Amazon Prime, choose that option. Your life will be easier.
