If you haven’t yet created a Zaycon Fresh account and purchased farm direct meat, your procrastination has paid off.
For a limited time, use the code firstcase at checkout and get a 40 pound box of fresh boneless, skinless chicken breast for just 99¢ a pound.
This is a “are you SERIOUS?” type of deal.
Ready to check it out?
Go to Zaycon Fresh and create your account.
Select your preferred delivery location or locations. I have a couple of cities selected since I’m willing to drive a bit in case the closest location’s delivery date/time isn’t convenient for me. For this deal to work, you need to select the fall delivery (September or October) NOT June.
Add the chicken breast to your cart (make sure you’ve selected your preferred delivery location).
Add firstcase in the Promo Code box to get your first box for less than $40.
Your credit or debit card will be charged now. You pay for your chicken now and pick-up in the fall.
If you’re already a Zaycon Fresh customer you can use these codes for the fall deliveries:
- ONECASE = $1.49/lb for one case
- 2ORMORE = $1.39/lb for 2+ cases
Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Zaycon Fresh:
Is the chicken organic?
Yeah, right. It’s 99¢ a pound. It’s regular grocery store quality chicken breast. I compare it to Foster Farms.
How is it packaged?
It comes in one freezer cardboard box. Inside the box, the chicken is in four plastic bags with 10 pounds of chicken in each bag.
What type of work is involved in preparing the chicken?
When you bring the box home, you’ll have to package it for the freezer. This is how I handle it:
- Rinse the chicken off with water.
- Cut any fat off that I don’t want with IKEA kitchen scissors. Some chicken needs more trimming than others. It’s not overwhelming.
- Put chicken into freezer bags in meal-sized portions OR make freezer meals. I freeze the chicken as whole breasts and also cut it into pieces. I also have cooked the chicken in the Instant Pot, shredded it, and frozen it so I can just throw it frozen into a warm soup or defrosted for tacos.
That’s a lot of work.
That’s not a question, but I’ll answer anyway. It is more work than buying Costco’s pre-packaged Foster Farms chicken, but you’re paying WAY less and now you’re forced to be intentional with how you freeze it. That will save you time in the future.
How long will it last?
Well, it’s raw chicken. It will last as long as raw chicken usually lasts. You have a handful of days to get it frozen or consumed before it detonates. Once it’s in the freezer it will last until the End of Days, but it might not taste as good as eating it within a few months. Again, you’ve dealt with raw meat before.
Will the box fit in my fridge?
It will definitely fit in a regular top and bottom fridge shelf, but if you have one of those WORTHLESS side-by-side jokers, it won’t fit. The box will most likely fill up an entire shelf.
Can someone else pick my order up for me?
Yup. All you give the delivery driver is your name, so anyone can pick it up.
Can I trust meat delivered in a truck?
I sure hope so since every single thing you’ve ever purchased from a store is delivered in a truck.
Where does the chicken come from?
A chicken farm? I don’t know. If you want your chicken coming from a local farmer that sings lullabies to the flock as they go to sleep, you’ll need to go somewhere else. I do know that Zaycon Fresh contracts with a bunch of suppliers and all of the chicken joints are in the United States.
Do I have to purchase an ENTIRE box?
Yes, that’s how it works. Split it with a friend if you’re concerned.
For those of you who are new to Zaycon Fresh, you will go to the delivery location at the specified time, roll through the parking lot and pick up your boxes of meat. You don’t have to leave your car.

Wow. That is an unusual amount of sarcasm directed toward people that are trying to make responsible/ethical choices with their food purchases. I don’t usually see that kind of thing on this blog.
