I love, love, love my HOBO Lauren Vintage Wallet and Amazon has it for around $64! What? $60! I know, that is a lot for a wallet. But it’s functional, well-made and will last a long time.
When I purchase something I plan to use everyday, I want to use it for at least 5-10 years. I’m not the type to cycle through with the fashions. I want something that is efficient and well made. The HOBO Lauren Vintage Wallet is just that. It’s Italian leather with well built clasps and efficient use of space. It can be a wallet OR a purse. There is plenty of room to stash my cell phone in a side pocket but it’s not too big to take up a bunch of room in a small purse. The two side pockets make it easy to store my store loyalty cards in one side and my budgeting envelopes in another.
I cannot say enough about how much I love this wallet. It’s worth the investment if you’re tired of buying cheaper wallets and having them break within a year.
If you want a different color, Amazon has several more in stock and ready to ship!

Being frugal does not mean only buying “cheap.” If you buy quality that may cost more, but it lasts longer it is still a better deal…

I totally agree with you Kate. I buy the most inexpensive clothing I can find but found years ago paying $10-$30 for a purse didn’t make sense when they always rip and the zippers break after only a few months. I finally bought a $300 purse for a discounted $150 – it lasted me 16 years before the style was so outdated I finally replaced it with another one free using my visa points with my reward program. Buying quality doesn’t always mean you have to pay high prices for them. With products you use everyday it is definitely worth it considering wear and tear. And, yes, I have the matching wallet too – at a discounted amount for about the same as this Lauren wallet. Thanks so much for your smart buying tips!

Your welcome 🙂 And way to go on getting 16 years out of a purse!

I just ordered a hobo Lauren from amazon for $64!!! They have a bunch of colors available at different prices! Thank you for the idea to check amazon! And by the way, I think that this is the perfect post on frugal living. I am a college student, living on a budget but that doesn’t mean I don’t want nice things, too! These are exactly the kind of deals I look for! 🙂

🙂 Thanks! So glad that you found it. It’s one of my favorite wallets.

These are the best wallets I have ever owned. This is a FANTASTIC deal and one I was so happy to see posted. We all have to plan where and when to splurge and if you need a wallet this is a great choice because it is such great quality. I bought mine for almost $100. And it was worth it. This is a steal!

It’s okay, Angela is too. She just didn’t get to this one in time 😉

I feel like this is the wrong couponing site for me now. I used to come here to find ways to make it financially, but now I read about $64 Hobo wallets, while my husband is unemployed and I’m trying to figure out how to stretch my money to pay my bills and feed my family. I don’t mean to make you feel bad, I love Hobo wallets too, but I don’t think they are a part of frugal living. I’ll look elsewhere for deal blogs in the future.

I totally agree. During this Christmas season you will find several items posted that may not be what your family can or wants to afford. I get the unemployment part as well, my husband is too. We have readers who fall along all parts of the spectrum financially and post deals that we think are steals, great quality and worth the money you pay for. My mom had given me this last year as a Christmas gift. It was the only gift she got me but it’s one that I love. And I wanted to share that it was a great deal for those looking to buy something like this as a gift to give. It’s a savings on a product that is usually much more expensive. That is why I posted it.
We value frugal living and as Angela wrote here we want your spending to be intentional and what your family can afford. http://www.frugallivingnw.com/tips-tricks/3-steps-to-an-intentional-christmas/
I’m sorry the post made you feel like we didn’t value frugal living.

As a born-and-bred New Englander, frugality is in my blood, but frugality isn’t just about trying to spend as little money as possible. It’s also about making wise choices when it comes to spending money. While a $64 wallet may seem like an extravagant purchase up-front, the years of use it will provide makes it a smart (and frugal) choice in the end. A less expensive wallet may seem like a better choice initially, but if it falls apart after a year or so, not only does it become a poor investment (by having to replace it repeatedly), but it also contributes to a waste of natural resources and a creation of garbage that we, as consumers, are adding to constantly with our love of inexpensive but poorly-made goods. Not a very frugal practice in the grand scheme of things. I, for one, appreciate your tips on not only saving money, but making smart purchases, too. Thank you.
