Welcome Box Update: Thank you, FLNW readers!
Last week, many of you stopped by one of our four Welcome Box drop-off sites and donated bags of toiletries, art supplies, toys, and snacks for kids entering foster care. Some of you even gave finished boxes packed with fantastic items. Thank you! We added your donations to some large donations from local churches and bulging bags from other individuals. By the time everything was gathered into one place, we had small mountains covering five different tables. I knew I wanted to get involved in this Welcome Box idea, but I wasn't sure where to start. Like most of you, I had a decent stockpile of toothpaste, granola bars, and crayons, but I wanted to go big. I had a big tower of Welcome Boxes in mind. This was not exactly in our budget for the month. Hmmm. What to do? Well, I just did what I do anytime I am stumped. I called on my friends and family.
