Tired of spending big bucks on Jet Dry for your dishwasher? My glasses were getting increasingly cloudy & even Jet Dry wasn’t making a big difference. Someone mentioned white vinegar & I tried it. My glasses look wonderful after just a few loads. Just add full strength white vinegar to the dispenser in your dishwasher. It works & it’s cheap!
While on the subject of vinegar, I found this handy website on 1001 Uses for White Distilled Vinegar.

Dani, thanks so much for the tip of using it for cleaning toilets due to having boys and potty training 🙂 I need to clean toilets as of YESTERDAY, LOL 🙂
Borax is also good for getting rid of ants too! Use with caution because it is highly toxic to children and pets if ingested.
I love finding new uses for vinegar! I mainly use it for neutralizing the pee smell of potty training and doggy accidents. (And around the toilets that the boys use in the house. Ick!)
Vinegar is great as a rinse aid! It works so well and it is cheap at Costco 🙂
Rose~ Trader Joes has tea tree oil for a pretty good price, though I just saw it somewhere else for a really good everyday price… but I can’t remember where! It was a mainstream store, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for.
I have used vinegar and it does a great job on dishes. Also the Borax you can use for different things. My dog has had fleas. I was told by my grandma to sprinkel it all over the floor let it set a couple of hours and then come back and vaccuum. The fleas eat the borax and explode and wala. They are few and far between. Do it on a weekly basis and they will be gone. If you look on alot of the stuff you put on the floor Borax is listed and you can get it in the soap section at Kmart. Works great. Good luck.

I use water, vinegar and tea tree oil in a spray bottle for my everyday cleaner.

I use borax! I just put about 1/4c in my dishwasher door before I close it, just throw it on there! I might try the vinegar 🙂

I usually buy a bunch at once. I know soap.com has it and if you’re a new customer you can get 20% off and free shipping on your first order? Something like that. I did that and just bought several. It’s at Safeway, but generally like 5.50/box. Walmart has it too. It is in the detergent/soap aisle. HTH

That website does have a lot of great ideas-I looked at the cleaning ones.
Also I do homecare nursing and to disinfect equipment we soak it in a 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water solution for 1/2 hour.
