What’s for dinner?: This week’s menu plan (9/24)
I'm loving this Fall weather. I think I can finally start using my oven! I've made small headway on my monthly meal planning. I have 3 weeks so far. I'm hoping to get a 3 month rotation set with a few days left over for 'on the fly' cooking. Here's what's for dinner at my house this week: Monday -- Chicken Stuffing Bake -- Using frozen chicken from all my Simple Roast Chicken and made Cream of Chicken soup with Lactose Free milk. Dairy and I are not friends. It's super easy to make. Don't be scared off. Try it. It's delicious! Tuesday -- Asian Turkey Meatballs with rice & broccoli -- so delicious! Kids love these Wednesday -- Turkey Meatloaf Keep Reading

What’s for dinner? This week’s menu plan (9/17)
Time to get back on the meal planning band wagon. I'm toying with the idea of doing month long meal planning and select freezer cooking days. Especially for breakfast foods as our mornings are quick now before school. But first, I'm just going to start planning my dinners and this week is a no-oven week as it's still summer here in the PNW. Here's what's for dinner at my house this week: Monday -- Orange Chicken with broccoli & rice (If you're short on time, buy some already made chicken strips. Cut them up and throw in a pan with a little oil until heated. Then add the sauce.) Tuesday -- Homemade Egg McMuffins with Bacon & shredded Keep Reading

Frugal Tip: Make your own Chef Sleeves for iPad
The Food Day featured a great product called Chef Sleeves. It's a way to protect your iPad from the elements in your kitchen while cooking. It's a great invention. I cook from recipes pulled up on my iPad frequently. Just before I was set to buy, a frugal idea light bulb went off. Why not use a gallon sized zip bag? Sure enough, it fit perfectly. Simplifying Kids Craft Supplies
Crafts are my nemesis. I don't like creating the craft (enter Kiwi Crate), facilitating the project or dealing with the mess. But I know that my kids, especially my 6 year old, wants to be creative. I needed to find a solution that would fulfill their creative desire and keep the supplies to a minimum. I love this idea of an old wine crate (towards the bottom of the post) but my trips to the antique store are limited these days with three kids 6 and under. Fortunately, Target handles small children well. Look what I found in the garden section for $3.99! It's a potted planter where the cups are attached. (It also comes in a pretty yellow or Keep Reading
