Guest post by Mavis from OneHundredDollarsAMonth.com. This is my neighbor's garden. It's a masterpiece. A real beauty. So when my neighbor called the other day and asked if I would help her with her garden, I laughed. "Define help" I asked. "Look, I'm really busy. I will give you anything you want if you just come over and weed and plant the whole thing for me... anything!" she pleaded. "Would you give me a case of toilet paper and a 25lb bag of sugar?" I asked. "Are you serious?" "Are you?" "Fine. Yes, I will go to Costco and get you toilet paper and sugar you weirdo, now how soon can you get started?" "I'll be over Keep Reading
Ask the FLNW Community: How to find a produce co-op
I just received an email from our reader, Lora: I just recently started trying to coupon. What I was wondering is if you know of any good produce co-ops? My sister in laws and mother in law live in Idaho and all have been a part of Bountiful Baskets. That isn't an option here and I was hoping to find something similar, price-wise too. That seems like such an awesome deal. Just curious if you knew of anything that was similar and not too expensive. I wrote a series on this topic, "Saving Money on Real Food," which is a good place to start, but I don't have information on specific options for co-ops. If you have any advice for Lora, please Keep Reading
A tiny little surprise.
This is our fourth and youngest, Matthew. The shirt belonged to our third, Nathan. I thought we would be giving this one to another family (the shirt, not the kid), because the plan was for Matthew to NOT be a big brother, at least by blood... You know what the Bible says about plans. "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." (Proverbs 19:21) Despite a couple of things done to keep us a family of six, God had another plan. It looks like it includes another Davis. And a genetic Davis at that. We will be welcoming our fifth (gulp) baby sometime at the end of the summer! I'm back to maternity clothes, naps, Keep Reading
Ask the FLNW Community: How to protect your stockpile from pests
I just received an email from our reader, Mary. She needs your help with food preservation: I have been building up my stock of items over the last year and a half. We had a catastrophe happen. We had a bag of basamati rice that evidently had worms in it. We didn’t realize it and put it in the pantry with the rest of the stock. We have lost about 50% of our food stock. Do you have any suggestions on protecting from this happening again? If you have any advice for Mary, please leave a comment! Go here for step-by-step instructions on how to leave a comment. photo credit Keep Reading

Every time you make a purchase through one of these links, the site that sent you there gets a cut of the sale. Cash back sites have come up Keep Reading

Saving Money Online 101: Make a plan
As we move quickly into the Christmas shopping season, I am becoming more and more convinced that the fantastic deals will not be in the traditional brick & mortar store but online. I just love that retailers are encouraging me to stay home and sip a homemade mocha while taking advantage of their fantastic online offers. Over the next five days, I am going to discuss several ways to save money on your online shopping. Just like shopping in the grocery or drug stores, the more strategies you employ, the more money you can save.
