Back-to-school is officially HERE and I’m crossing my fingers that all my work in the past month will pay off with a smooth transition to early bedtimes, lunch packing, and routine, routine, routine.
I’ve teamed up with CenturyLink to talk about ways I’m working to simplify my family’s routine this fall! Here we go!
Enjoy family time for FREE!
It’s easy to get caught up in doing expensive activities in and around town, but I’m excited to spend the warmer part of the fall discovering and rediscovering all the free (or really cheap) things to do in Portland.
A good place to start is to check out our big list of 39 Ways to Enjoy Portland on a Budget and our Portland Family Fun Guide. Many of the attractions and events listed are incredibly affordable!
Another way to have fun as a family is to stay home and play games together, including group video games. CenturyLink sponsored a really fun connected home event this summer in Portland that demonstrated how having a great internet can help foster family fun, especially when you can’t go outside because of the weather.
Reevaluating what is and is not working in our home, especially when it comes to technology.
Back-to-school is a natural time to go through all your bills and figure out if you’re both paying a good price and if what you’re paying for is meeting your household’s needs.
CenturyLink can simplify your life with their Price for Life high speed internet service. There are several plans available so you can select which one fits your household’s unique technology needs.
Clearly, we need some serious internet to keep all of this tablet playing going.
Here’s the best part: Just like the name implies, CenturyLink offers a rate that stays the same as long as you keep your plan. No surprises. No contracts. No bundling needed. No rate hikes. No promotional pricing.
Just one simple bill each month and the price you sign up for now lasts as long as you keep your plan!
Head to CenturyLink to check our their high speed internet plans. Their Price for Life plans are certainly attractive — and you don’t have to call every six months to renegotiate your service.
Not only does CenturyLink simplify their customer’s lives by offering such a straightforward pricing structure, they are also invested in the Portland community through their education initiatives.
Through CenturyLink’s Teachers and Technology annual grant program, teachers have been awarded almost $55,500 in Oregon with $13,000 awarded to Portland classrooms alone!
Decluttering.
For some reason, I don’t have the motivation to purge my house during the “spring cleaning” season. I’m just too excited to get everyone outside. Back-to-school feels like the perfect time to get rid of as much as I can — clothes, toys, and especially my pantry.
I love being able to drop off (not-expired) canned and boxed food that I know we’re not going to eat to my local food pantry. (Find Portland area food pantries HERE.)
And I especially love that people and businesses work to help children who have limited access to food when they are out of school.
CenturyLink’s Backpack Buddies Food Drive sends home nutritious meals home with at-risk kids ensuring that they have food over the weekend and during school breaks.
How are you simplifying your family’s routines this fall?
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of CenturyLink. The opinions and text are all mine.

I wish they were in Beaverton, I’d gladly dump Unfriendly Unreliable Frontier but only other option is even more unfriendlier, more costly Comcast.
