You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

I just bought 3 boxes of Huggies for the over $40 and it didn’t take $10 off either so it must nor work on same items
Bethany says
So do you not get the catalina on other size diapers? Which part makes this only work for Size 1. Just curious. Thanks.
Renee says
The $7 catalina is only for 42+ count diapers so in jumbo packs only size ones qualify. I believe if you buy 4 you get a $10 catalina and I think you get this with boxed diapers too.
I bought 3 jumbo size one ($7.99 although the sale price wasn’t marked) and one box size 3 ($16.99) used a $3 MQ peelie and 3 $2 MQ printables, and got a $10 cat and a $5 cat, and $3 ibotta rebate (I scanned the 3 jumbos and it worked).
My total before coupons was $40.96 so I thought I’d get the $10 off but it didn’t come off automatically. Turns out the $10 off $40 is only on certain boxed diapers.

So… on the second scenario, if you spend $40, would you still get the $10 off? or is that a misprint on the first scenario.
Also, second question, If I did the first scenario, and got $7 and $5 in Catalina’s, and I use them on a second transaction of diapers, would I get a second set of Catalina’s? or does it work like Walgreen’s, and you can’t do that???
Kim says
I also noticed on the fine print of the $3 Ibotta rebate that they have to be 3 different products in order for the rebate to work.
Samantha says
The rebate is worded so odd, I don’t think it has to be 1 Cottonelle, 1 Kleenex and 1 Huggies (as an example) because on Saturday I redeemed the $3/3 offer after doing the Huggies deal at Target, I scanned 2 boxes of diapers and 1 box of wipes and Ibotta accepted the items and my receipt.
I don’t know if this has changed since then though, so who knows.
Ashley says
I just cashed in on the Ibotta offer, and it worked for me. Hopefully it works for you!
Kr says
i am also confused , it totals $23.97
Doaa says
I’m confused how 3 packs at 7.99 each will total $40?
Samantha says
I’m not sure why they added that in the scenario, but if you run the numbers it does equal out to free after the catalinas and Ibotta rebate, perhaps they just included that if someone was planning on spending $40 worth?
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
The first scenario totals out to free but it is only on size 1 diapers. The second scenario is the best deal on all other sizes because most people need something other than size 1 diapers.
Samantha says
I think people are confused because in the first scenario it says – Spend $40, Save $10 Instantly (automatically deducts at the register) – that’s what’s being questioned.
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Oh wow, I meant to edit that out. Okay it isn’t there anymore. Thanks.
