Dave’s first week on Weight Watchers update (make sure you read the introduction to Dave’s weight-loss journey here):
Well I’m one week in with my Weight Watchers odyssey. Already down five pounds, I am on track to have my dancer’s body back by summer, giving me every excuse to show off my horrifyingly pale chest!
The great thing I’ve found is that (at least early on) I don’t have any cravings. Probably because WW allows you to eat anything, you just need to stay within your daily point total. I have eaten seemingly diet-busting food like burgers and enchiladas, all while watching the pounds melt away. Tune in next week, when I continue to try losing weight while attempting to eat an entire carrot cake in one sitting.
Weekly update from Kate: Since Dave lacks in cooking skills the dinner routine falls on me. I’ve found Skinnytaste and Our Best Bites to be the best resources. We made the freezer breakfast burritos from Our Best Bites this week.
We bought most of the supplies at Costco and WinCo. It took 30 minutes to cook and assemble giving us 14 burritos. When Dave’s ready to eat, he just takes them out of the freezer and heats in the toaster oven for 30 minutes. If you’re short on time take them out the night before and remove foil to heat in the microwave for one minute. Even if you’re not on WW this is a quick easy, freezer breakfast!
Here are some additional recipes that will work well on WeightWatchers:
- Chicken Tortilla Soup (a gluten-free, dairy-free recipe)
- Healthy Wraps using Flat Bread
- Simple Kale Salad with Lemon-Garlic Vinaigrette
- Breakfast Fried Rice (a gluten-free, dairy-free recipe)
- Quinoa Patties
WeightWatchers is offering 50% off when you sign-up for a one-month OnlinePlus plan — just $19.95. Or you can get a three-month plan for $49.95 ($30 off!). Dave is using the OnlinePlus plan, which gives him access to the app for calculating and tracking points plus other resources along with the 24/7 online chat feature. This particular offer ends February 14, 2015.

I am on a weight loss mission, too! My blog is a food diary of everything I eat, which can give you good ideas for your menu planning. I am a big fan of Skinnytaste’s recipes, too!!

Hungrygirl.com has a lot of food products and recipes that follow the ww point system. Check it out. I’ve done ww a few times in The past.

I forgot about that! I’ll check it out today. Thanks!

My husband has lost almost 50 lbs on WW for Men. He feels it’s really easy because like Dave, he can eat whatever he wants as long as it’s in his points budget.
I haven’t changed the way I cook at all; I think it was pretty healthy, but his portions were too large and he was snacking on the wrong things.

That’s exactly what was happening our house. I’m encouraged by your husband. That’s awesome!
