Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to $.50 each. Safeway is inconsistent from store to store about doubling internet printed coupons. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

ok, where’s the weekly deals for 1/7 to 1/14? they’re usually up by now…
SBrooks says
The J4U $ 2 Tide offer (online) says: Offer Type: One-time MFG Coupon. I believe this will mean you can not double up a paper coupon with the J4U on your card (or the coupon from the paper (because it is valid with your card use) . Correct me if I am wrong, because I would love to get my Tide for .50 on Friday.
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
I think the coupon online right now is the manufacturer’s coupon in correlation with the P&G insert that came out last weekend. Since the ad isn’t effective until Friday, I am assuming the online coupon won’t be available until Friday.

We went through this same ordeal a couple of months ago with the same offer. The J4U/in-ad cpn are considered mfr cpns and not store cpns, as I recall. There were some hard feelings because the flnw posting advertised the Tide at $.50, but no one (or nearly no one) was able to get it for that price. It was confusing because the in-ad cpn looks like a store cpn.

Also observed that Chombani yogurt is on sale for $1 each. I received an email coupon for B1G1 free. Combine this sale and coupon with Ibotta offer for $1 for the purchase of 3 yogurts. Should be pretty cheap healthy food. Thanks to all who share there knowledge, and great discoveries at the stores!
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
Nice find Diane. I’ll try to get a post in about this later this week. Thanks!

any idea if the 10 off 50 coupon will be in Wednesday’s paper?
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
It wasn’t in the food day today so I think we will get it next week. It is usually good the Tuesday we get it so you can use it on these deals if you go on Tuesday.
Howard says
Good point about the $10 cpn often being good for 8 days. It usually comes out in the FoodDay closest to the first of the month, and probably didn’t this time because of the holiday. Safeway has no incentive to give $10 off on stuff people are going to buy anyway for New Year’s parties.
