If you’re looking for a local cherries and are willing to drive to the eastiside of Portland, I have two exclusive deals for Frugal Living NW readers:
Deal #1: Get 18 pounds of Bing seconds or Rainier seconds for $20 each ($1.11/lb).
Poole Family Farms supplies cherries to many stores and fruit stands up and down the valley. The cherries that we have to sort out due to some sort of imperfection we call “seconds.” Don’t let the name fool you. These cherries are wonderful and fresh!
Pick-up Details: Sunday, July 6 from 3-6 pm
Pick-up Location: SE Portland (right off Foster exit on I-205)

Grace will reply with the pick-up address by email. Cash only.
Deal #2: Get 20 pounds of Red Lapin Cherries (a sweet variety) for $30 ($1.50/lb).
These are field picked straight from the tree in Hood River to the box the morning your order.
Pick-up Days: Sunday, July 13 or Monday, July 14 from 11 am – 5 pm
Pick-up Location: SE 130th & Sunnyside Rd in Clackamas/Happy Valley (5 minutes east of the Sunnyside exit on I-205)
How to order: Email hoodrivercherries@gmail.com by 5:00 pm the evening before you’d like to pick-up (the discounted boxes may sell out, so place your order ASAP). Include:
- Name
- Cell #
- Date of pick-up (7/13 or 7/14)
- # of boxes
