The pineapple BOGO deal runs thru 2-25. I bought 4 today, used two $.50/2 cpns and doubler, nothing beeped, so a 2-cent moneymaker.

There are regional register differences with this. In the NW, generally the coupons DO NOT beep when using, for example, a $1/2 with Bogo. In other regions, they do.
I guess I’m lucky to have easy going stores near by. They double IPs and override beepers without much hassle (yoplait cup coupons always beep when using them on the original cups as an example).
Brenda says
Yeah, what’s up with those Yoplait coupons? they always beep!

safeway’s policy is you CAN NOT use a mfr. towards a free item like in a bogo. the computer will tell prompt the checker. trust me, I do the pricing for the company.
AJ says
yeh, its technically against the rules to use a coupon(any) towards the free item in a b1g1

I’ve done a deal like this at Safeway and I was told I had to purchase two as the coupon says. The lady said with a bogo deal, the free item is not considered a purchase, so you would walk out with 4 cans per coupon.
Howard says
That does make sense; but I’ve never had a problem anywhere using a cents off on two cpn with a BOGO store deal. If they were to sell the same items at half price instead of BOGO, the cents off on 2 would be perfectly legit. Using that logic, I feel it’s OK to use the cpn with the BOGO offer.
Brenda says
Agreed!
I was even allowed to use a .50/2 coupon last time this sale was going at a very non-coupon friendly Safeway, they did however refuse to double the coupon because of the .01 difference. I didn’t even bother to explain to them that they could just double it up to .49 because I knew it would just be a waste of time.
Wonder if I should hold on to my coupons a bit longer and see if a catalina pops up like last year?!

I can’t find this coupon in Eugene, but I did have a brochure I grabbed a while back that has a $1/3 dole pineapple. It says DND, but better than nothing. I guess I would have to buy 6 for 2.97- 2 $ coupons and $.97 for 6. Thought I might remind somebody else if they also had this brochure in their stash.
PJ says
Haven’t had a problem with this transaction. I think it would be different if one was trying to attach one coupon to one free item. When I did the purchase, the computer processed it fine, and my cashier doubled it no problem.
