Forgive my tired brain but how does the speed stick deal work out? If it’s a bogo deal then how do you get a +up on the free one?
Brenda says
Ariel,
The deal isn’t BOGO, the coupon is.
If you purchase 2 Speedsticks for $2.99 each and use the BOGO coupon you will pay $2.99 and then you will receive 2 $1 UpR’s (one for each product). Does that make sense?
Brenda says
The Snapware coupon is regional, but both the Oregonian and the Columbian received it. Not sure which paper you have but it came in the 1/5 SS- the Oregonian version had Lean Cuisine on the cover and the Columbian has Juicy Juice on the cover. Additionally, if you get the early coupon insert in the mail it has IHOP coupons on the cover.
Hopefully, that will give you a start of which coupon insert to look through. That was a big weekend that had 5 inserts so maybe you didn’t look through all of them?
Karinda says
first wanted to thank you for ALL your hard work!! this has saved my family because of couponing im able to work part time again thank you!! Second I am not finding the snapware coupon in 1/5ss anyone else experiencing that???
Karinda says
I see Rubbermade but not Snapward 🙁
Howard says
I used mine right away (Oregonian), so they must have been there.
Not showing in the Cpn Database, but that site has been having issues so far in 2014.
Brenda says
Howard,
I just google coupon database, there’s a bunch to choose from. I’ve been having all kinds of issues with FLNW’s database for awhile now too.
Brenda says
I keep forgetting to mention a possible deal on Zantac.
If you happen to get a $5/1 RA Zantac coupon (I got one in my weekly email and one in the Rite Aid mailer) you can stack it with the $4 coupon (1/5 SS). Shelf price for the 24 count is $10.79 or $8.63 with my discount. Makes for a cheapie or freebie and will count towards the monthly UpR game!
charolyn says
Nice-I will put it on my list for tomorrow 🙂
Also I see that there will be a monthly +up in February -like January’s! We have one week off (although looks like some good deals next week too) and it starts the 2nd.
charolyn says
A report on pricing I learned today: on deals like the $5/10 above-after you buy the required amount (in this case 5) -if you buy more items -so 5+ this time, they will be the discounted price (not the single price that is also listed).
Brenda says
Yes, I’ve experienced that before as well. I don’t trust it to always work that way so I plan for the higher price and then it’s a nice bonus when it’s less at the register.
Meagan says
LOTS of physicians formula is 75% right now and even though it isn’t marked, the total you spend DOES go towards the UP rewards games! So that on top of the spend $10 get $15 in Up rewards, it makes for some good deals!
Melody says
Thank you guys for all the great updates, I’ll do my best to get an additional post up tomorrow with more scenarios. You are the best!
charolyn says
You do great Melody-I know it is a lot of work-don’t push yourself too hard!
By the way-the benefiber +up is $7/$15.
Brenda says
You’re the best!
We couldn’t do it without your match ups!
Amanda says
FLNW is the best! I couldn’t coupon without you guys – I just don’t have time to search out all the deals you post. If I see something extra or can price out an item you didn’t have listed, I’ll do it to contribute. 🙂
Amanda says
For Aleve, I got 100 count (plus an extra 30 in some packages). Retail is $10.99 but my 20% discount made it $8.79 then I used the $3/1 coupon from today’s ad and the $3/1 from the 1/5 SS like mentioned in the deals provided above. The great thing is Aleve counts towards the +Up reward games (not marked as such on the shelves, but is read in the deal list)!
Brenda says
There is a new $5/2 Loreal Advanced Haircare coupon available on coupons . com. I matched it up with a bunch of $1/1 RA coupons I had (VV’s, email, and mailers). I finished off the deal with Preference hair color since there’s a VV for it as well.
Here’s the deal I did today.
Loreal Products -Spend $20, receive $5 UpR
Buy 4 Loreal Advanced Shampoo $4.99 ($3.99 with my discount)
Buy 1 Loreal Preference Hair Color $9.99 ($7.99 with my discount)
= $23.95
-$5/2 – $5/2 – 4 $1/1 RA – $3/1(1/12 RP) -$2 VV = $4.95, receive $5 UpR
Free!
Plus it all tracked for the monthly game UpR!
There are about 457 million Loreal coupons available right now between the 1/5 RP, 1/12 RP, the RA and Printable ones and it appears all of the Loreal line is working for this UpR promo so the possible scenarios are endless…
charolyn says
Very nice! I am really finding the rite aid e-mail coupons/facebook coupons & mailer coupons very helpful in making even more great deals too! Oh forgot to say-also sometimes the rite aid coupons that come attached to the receipts.
Howard says
Brenda, thanx for the heads-up on this. My daughter colors her hair, so I bought 4 color-treated shampoos/conditioners and 1 Preference color. Had the two $5/2 man cpns, one $2 and one $1 VV cpn (yes, I’ve sucked it up and become part of the 21st century), one $3 Preference cpn, and one $1 RA L’Oreal cpn. Paid $6.95 and got the $5 UP. Now I’m up to $69.18 for the “Game” and have 4 days to decide whether to play the game. I’m motivated now because I have a $10 UP that expires 1-28 and don’t know that I’ll be able to use it if Sunday’s ad doesn’t move me. Might buy some more Preferences–I think I have a couple of $2 and $3 cpns–and maybe 2 or 4 Speed Sticks to get there. Worth spending $31 before cpns or a bit more to get $15, right?
charolyn says
I think it is worth it & if you want to spend even less OOP-shop several days in a row, using up all your ups-& you will end up with at least $15 in ups!
Note though that the speed sticks are limit 2 on +ups.
The colgate battery toothbrushes with the ad coupon & manu coupon this week are a good deal (do you have grandkids-are also good on kid ones). No plus ups involved-so you could get many of those.
Also the men’s aveeno item is free with coupon & VV (now that you are enlightened you can do that!), and if you want to throw in J&J cotton swabs-that is a great price & counts also. If you get 5 of these items are $5/10.
Kristy says
The Colgate kids toothbrushes are ringing up for $6.39 with gold. $1.39 OOP. Just helps to know those numbers for planning…
Brenda says
The John Frieda deal could be good for you as well.
Buy 1 hair color $12.99 ($10.39 with 20% discount)
Buy 1 color gloss $12.99 ($10.39 with 20% discount)
Use $10/2 with $4 RA facebook coupon (is it still available?)
=6.78 oop, receive 2 $3 UpR
One warning with this, it appears that not all of the colors of the gloss are printing the extra $3 UpR. I didn’t get one but my sister did, but it will give you $20 more for your game UpR total.
The Aveeno deal Carolyn mentioned would be great as well, as long as you can find a store that still has some. Also RA’s version of Prilosec has an $6 in ad coupon this week making it $13.99 for the 42 count and when I did it a couple of weeks ago I actually was credited the full $19.99 for the monthly UpR deal.
You can do it!!!
Howard says
OK, thanks to all for the tips and general inspiration, or was it perspiration? I went to RA today; no Aveeno left, got a raincheck. I needed $30.82 to get to $100. I bought 4 L’Oreal hair colors, 3 @ $7.19, 1 @ $7.99 after 20% discount, and a box of RA raisins for $1.29. That got me to $100.03! Ka-ching!
Had $9 in cpns and $15 in prior UPs, so I paid $21.85 ($6.85 OOP) to get the $15. They had the Speed Stix, but I didn’t need any and passed, even though I coulda had 4 for $1.98.
charolyn says
Nice job & you couldn’t have gotten any closer to $100! You get the award.
Trina says
What confuses me is why the stores don’t stock the items that are going on sale, last week for example the windex deal you had to buy 8 to get the $10 back for spending over $25 there was only a spot for 8 on the shelf. Why don’t they have extra somewhere in the store….or stock enough for more then one person to do the deal. I got a mix of windex and pledge but after i left with my 8 there was barely a few left…….today i had to go in early because my husband needed the car for work, but its a good thing i did, i was one of the first few people in the door and they only had a few toothbrushes and deodorants sad 🙁

It all depends on the store-some are very coupon savvy and order tons- but even then it depends on the warehouse & if they have enough in stock (& that does get back to rite aid-why have such big requirements, if you don’t have much stock!).
If you have a choice of several stores in your area-check them out & see if one does a better job. Also you could talk to the person who does the ordering & see if they are open to matching it up to the good deals-they do know what is coming out ahead of time.
(and if you are very invested-you can see the ads ahead of time at iheartriteaid.com & give them heads up on the great deals coming).
And the last idea is to find out what day they restock & check back & see if they have gotten more items in-usually a little later in the day after they have uppacked.
kris says
they store are not allowed to order X amount of items, they are given a set amount depending on sales from prior year, so cant blame the stores for not having enough stock 🙁
Jenn says
For the Neosporin deal, some of the Neosporin Essentials have Rite Aid peelies on them for $1 and $2 (depending on item). I paired those with manufacturer’s coupons and the BOGO 50% deal and made out like a bandit! Those also qualify for the Buy 3, get free First Aid bag. You can also get the free bag by doing two small Neosporin ointments and using the buy Neosporin + pain relief, get one pack of character Band-Aids free coupon that was linked above.
karinda says
Thank you Howard for confirming 🙂
karinda says
That was folgers oops
Howard says
Don’t see it in my Oregonian 1-12 RP or in the cpn database.
karinda says
Not seeing the filters in the 1/12 TO 🙁 anyone else having that problem?
charolyn says
I have a high value Benefiber catalina coupon I got previously from rite aid-you may want to check your stash too!
Brenda says
I don’t have any Benefiber catalina coupons, but I found both Speed Stick and John Frieda ones! Thanks for the reminder to look.
Laura, SW Pdx says
I am not locating $.35/1 Blistex coupon from 1/12 SS insert….anyone else find it?
Howard says
nope
Steph says
I got the finish tabs for .07 cents a load at Safeway
Amanda says
For the Palmolive scenario – there is a coupon in the 1/19 SS that is $.25/1 and it reads “10 oz, 25 oz, 38 oz, 50 oz ULTRA ONLY”. Does this mean the 50 oz has to be ultra only or all of them? Maybe that variety is included in the sale?
charolyn says
I am guessing it would be for any size, and thanks for the heads up, as was planning to use that coupon & didn’t notice that.
Do note that you can only use 4 like coupons at a time-and you have to buy 5 at a time to get the +up-so figure that into your total cost-but also as it is part of the game +up-will give an additional discount there.
I also found 14 oz palmolive this week at dollar tree & the .50 coupons are good on that size-so that may be a slightly better price (have to do the math again, but I think that’s what I thought), and you don’t have to buy 5 at once!
Melody says
Good call Amanda, thanks! I missed that one.
Amanda says
Update – I was able to use this coupon. The cashier agreed it was fine as she has never seen an “ultra” version. I did purchase the Palmolive that says “ultra concentrated” as some of them did not have this verbiage on the label. BTW – I spent $21 for $100 worth of products and came out to just under $1/item! Pretty good week. Now I just need to spend $12 to get my $15+up. 🙂
charolyn says
Nice & thanks for the update !
Dallin says
Wow Amanda, that’s impressive. What deals did you do to spend so little for $100 worth of stuff?
Amanda says
I should have mentioned I had $19+up going into the deal, but it still makes for a great trip even if you don’t have it. From the deals listed above:: Charmin x3, Palmolive, Speed Stick x2, Frizz Ease, Snapware x4, Beneful dog treats, and Trident gum. On Saturday, I was targeting the $100 goal for the +up rewards. Yesterday, I made it and targeted $150. Now I realize I can easily make $200 this week. The Charmin is a great deal and counts towards the game. Aleve does as well (see my comment somewhere else in this section). I bought some Revlon or L’Oreal products last night (needed a mirror) and that counted too!
charolyn says
The speed stick & colgate power toothbrushes (manu + in ad coupon) are the best deals towards the Game +up.
Also I believe the aveeno men’s (part of the $5/10 deal) J&J oil/powder & swabs count towards it-I didn’t have my aveeno video value today, so plan to do that tomorrow.
If you can find it (I have yet to-even found the display today-but none of these items) the John Frieda deal Brenda describes above would be great.
Joanna says
Is that right on the John Freida deal ?!! Finally, a reason to get out of bed in the morning!!
Kandi Newcomer says
I am curious about the John Frieda deal too. I looked at the insert preview and it does not have that coupon listed. The only $10 off coupon is Buy one foam hair color and get $10 of a gloss.
Amy says
Thank you Joanna! Your comment struck me too funny! I don’t typically LOL at much but you made me laugh! Now I’m ready to get out of bed and face my day. You provided my sunshine on this cold, cloudy day. Many thanks to Melody as well for providing Joanna the inspiration!
charolyn says
I too have been looking at the $10 John Frieda coupon (it came in the red plum mailer-so I have it already) & thinking that should be a great deal-BUT later when I looked at it more closely-noticed you have to buy BOTH a foam colour AND the colour refreshing gloss-so not as good.
Also I have been looking for this product in every store (not just rite aids) that I have been to lately & have yet to find it!
If anyone finds the colour refreshing gloss-let us know what the price is.
Brenda says
I haven’t found the colour gloss in my stores either.
Gotta love all their fancy names, guess conditioner is too boring and generic these days.
When it does show up, it should still be a decent deal between the coupons and UpR. If I recall the $12.99 price on the hair color is actually the shelf price so it will be lower if you have a discount.
Melody says
Oh shoot, the database just listed $10 off. Should have figured that one was too good to be true!
Janene says
Refresher needed since I’ve been slowing down on my shopping trips….I can use the catalina for John Freida Serum that I got from RA with the insert coupon correct? Even though the cat. reads manufacturer coupon?
Howard says
If this helps–Walgreens ad today has JF Foam Colour and Perfecting Glosser for $11.99 each, and 2000 reward points ($2 value) WYB any two. So one of each would cost $13.98 after cpn and before points award.
charolyn says
Thanks Howard.
Janene-if I understand you correctly-the coupons from the catalina machine are manufacturers coupons-not rite aid coupons-they just have their logo on them, so you can’t use that & the insert coupon together.
Rite Aid does sometimes have coupons that come on the receipts (look them over closely!) that are rite aid coupons and coupons that they have in their ads are almost always rite aid coupons (confusing as they do say manufactures coupons at the top!).
To tell for sure look at the barcode-rite aid ones start with RC & then either 48 or 49-if you have both a 48 & 49 they can also be used together with a manu coupon!
Lots of details at rite aid-so keep asking & hope you aren’t now more confused 🙂
Christy says
I found the color refreshing gloss at the Newberg store, and it is $12.99, same as the foam color. And it also produced a $3 +Up! So after the $10 and $4 coupons, my 20% discount and two $3 +Ups the two products came to 39 cents each!
Brenda says
Thanks for the update, Christy. I found the gloss today as well but decided to wait to do the deal, so great about the extra $3 UpR!
Charolyn,
Look for the cardboard displays of John Frieda products, that’s where I found the refreshing gloss today.
charolyn says
Thanks everyone-I looked again today, but maybe I will find it on a display.
Also wanted to let you know Brenda-I found 2 sets of the great kleenex deal last week-thanks to your tip, as none of them were marked clearance. I did one & a few days later saw more kleenex over near the cold medicine area & there were more of the clearance boxes there! Everyone I know is getting free kleenex!
Michelle says
I found the color refreshing gloss and tried this today and did not get the extra $3 up. Only got one that said for purchasing select John Frieda.
Brenda says
Michelle,
Yeah, I think that only some of the colors are printing it for the gloss. Both my sister and I bought it, but got different colors and she got the extra $3 UpR and I did not. Oh well, still a decent deal and sent me over the $200 mark!
Sandie says
What what is that you say???? Newberg had something! That is incredible, you’ll never find a nicer group of girls with no product to see their customers!!!!!!!! Not fair to their employees or customers that live in Newberg
Jane says
Thanks Melody! There were 2 errors I noticed. The pregnancy test final price should be $9.99, I think, not $.99. And the Aveeno/Stayfree etc…you have them listed $2/$10 single price $2.49. Did you mean $2/4? Thanks for all your hard work! You do an incredible job.
charolyn says
The Aveeno/stayfree… is actually $5/10 & at rite aid the single price usually is higher than the multiple price in cases like this-so I think Melody’s single price info is correct & the $2/10 is a typo (probably because they are in essence $2 each-but when you buy 5 at a time).
