UPDATED FOR 2020
A few years ago I asked all of you how to get rid of the urine smell in my kids’ bathroom. I have consolidated those comments into a list and now bring you 9 ways to get rid of the pee smell in your bathroom.
1. Use a black light specifically made to detect urine.
✓ Searching for pee is soooooo easy by using a small black light in the dark bathroom. Done.
2. Clean the area around and under the base of the toilet.
✓ I had the same problem and sprayed Scrubbing Bubbles, the kind that foams up, all around the base of the toilet and let it foam up there for a while. Then I scrubbed around it with an old tooth brush and it did the trick. Wish I could say it was my son’s fault, but I’m pretty sure it was my husband! Guys just can’t aim.
✓ There might also be icky gooey pee under the toilet. I use a plastic knife to clean under there and scrape that stuff out. If it’s still there, I’d have dear husband move the toilet and scrub. Then I’d seal it.
✓ Shark Steam mop the begeebers out of the area and spray with Urine Out Pet Odor Remover or vinegar and water.
✓ After doing everything you can to clean and you still have that horrible strong pee odor, use a little Snuggle Fabric Softener on a tissue to wipe all over the toilet seat, bowl, rim, etc. No need to rinse, just let it air dry. It immediately gives a fresh clean scent to the bathroom and toilet.
3. Wash the walls AND the molding.
✓ We used to clean the men’s restroom at our church when I was little and I will never forget how much better it smelled after we spent some time cleaning all the walls. Also make sure that they flush the toilet with the lid down. That will help so it doesn’t spray out at all after they are finished.
✓ I have 4 boys. If the bathroom still smells like pee after I clean the toilet, I know it’s the walls.
✓ Do you have molding along the floor of the bathroom? I finally figured out that there was urine dried underneath that! Gross. I’d never really bothered to try and clean under it before.
4. Beware of step stools, laundry baskets and garbage cans.
✓ I have been struggling with the same problem recently. It was driving me crazy, until I finally discovered that the smell was not coming from the toilet, but from the wooden stool in our bathroom. The bottom step doubles as a lid for a storage compartment, and the storage compartment was full of dried pee! That was no accident! So gross. We had to throw it out, and my husband and son spent the day building a new stool together. Here’s hoping pride in workmanship will deter a repeat performance.
✓ If they use a stool to stand on, you might want to get rid of it. My son never misses because he’s so short it barely makes it over the side of the bowl. There is nowhere else for it to go when he’s so close to the target.
✓ I had the same problem. Someone mentioned a shower curtain. Mine was actually the wicker basket next to the toilet that my young son was peeing on when he missed his target (YUCK!). I replaced it with a plastic garbage can that I wash each week when I clean the bathroom. Smell is gone! So, investigate other objects in the room!
✓ Unbeknownst to me, one of my young men was using the plunger and putting it back on the stand, soaked and unwashed. When I finally figured it out, so much relief… I had been washing the outside of it, moving it out and washing the floor, but I did not even know my son knew how to use it.
5. Use powerful cleaning agents (carefully of course).
✓ I wipe down the toilet first to get all of the big yuckies off, then I put one cup bleach straight into the bowl. With a gloved hand and a sponge I scrub the entire toilet inside and out with the bleach water out of the bowl. Flush and let let dry to kill all germs. It always gets rid of the smell!
✓ There is a product out there called SKOE 10x. You can only buy it online as far as I know. It is AMAZING!
✓ Nature’s Miracle for pet stains and odors was also effective for getting bathroom smells out of porous grout.
✓ I have been asking this question forever!!! The teenage boys or husband think I’m nuts. They say they don’t smell anything. I found the product OUT in the pet aisle works perfectly! After thorough cleaning of course. I then spray everywhere around the toilet.
✓ We got rid of the pee smell in our toilet. The rim was very stained and ordinary cleaners just wouldn’t do the job so I used oven cleaner! We sprayed the rim and were sure to get it onto the under side also. The under side of the toilet seat was sprayed also. Let it work about 20 minutes and then put on latex gloves and use one of those green scrub pads to scrub it clean! No more pee smell!
6. Wash the rug.
✓ A bit of an obvious answer is to wash or permanently remove the rug you might have in front of the toilet. My two boys still sit most of the time but still manage to pee out the crack between the seat and the bowl leaving pee running down the toilet onto the floor.
7. Tell the boys to sit down (or get more creative).
✓ Teach them to only pee sitting down at home and to only pee standing up at public restrooms. Works like a charm here.
✓ I have four boys and a husband and hated cleaning after them. I had a cute little urinal installed and no more pee everywhere! Still no mess and it sure has saved on water too.
7. Clean the cracks and crevices on the toilet.
✓ Really, it is probably coming from the wax ring under the toilet. Plumbing is the culprit most of the time, for continuing odors.
✓ Also be sure to clean under the toilet seat hinge caps-lots of pee hides there as well…and yes, I did have my two boys pee sitting down until they had decent control! Now that they are teenagers, guess who cleans the toilets every Saturday?
✓ Check the little crack under the tank and above the seat area. Dental floss the heck out of it. It is absolutely DISGUSTING!
✓ There is a wax toilet bowl gasket under your toilet that wears out over time and it causes your toilet to leak with every flush! In order to get rid of your urine smells you must replace that wax gasket and re-caulk your toilet after replacing the gasket. These gaskets need replacing every few years.
✓ I had the same problem. I finally figured out that even though there is a wax seal between the toilet and the floor it wasn’t doing it’s job. I had the toilet replaced and had new caulking done around the toilet. Problem solved. It hasn’t smelled since.
9. Teach kids to clean the bathroom.
✓ The only other suggestion I have to add to the excellent ones already posted is to start teaching your boys to clean the bathroom. They are not too little to learn to take a piece of toilet paper to wipe off the toilet if they dribble a bit or to take a Clorox wipe and wipe around the floor. Both of my boys were in charge of cleaning their bathroom completely at the age of six (after being helped and taught by me). At 13 and 16 they are really good with their aim, in part, I believe, because if they aren’t good they know they are the ones who will be cleaning it up.

Put a ping pong ball in the toilet and tell the boys to aim for the ball x

Every month I undo the seat and give the whole area a good wash and clean and soak the back cover area. When my boys were younger somehow it often got messy under there….i think they were doing a bit of “free willying”!?

Consider buying a Urifunnel. It collects all the urine & deposits it in the commode. Much cheaper than installing a urinal. Go to http://www.urifunnel.com for more info. I know, been there done that & I developed this product for my special needs son who did not understand that sitting at home was ok but not in a public restroom. Stops the problem before it starts. Happy Mothers Day!
Daisiemae says
So what do you do with it when it’s not in use? Don’t you have a big soiled thing to deal with all the rest of the time?
Jacqueline Harvey says
When I clean the coffee pot with vinegar, running a cycle with only vinegar), I’ll pour the hot liquid in the toilet bowl and does a fine job of getting some of the “baked on” stuff.
Charlotte C Nelson says
I use this great cleaner. Fantastik 5 in 1 all purpose cleaner. Spray it on let set and come back in 5 mins and wipe it away. I have a lot less work. This clearner also has bleach in it.
Jenny says
I would also add to teach everyone to flush with the lid DOWN. Even though you don’t see it, every time the toilet flushes microscopic droplets fly up in the air! We always keep the lid down in my house and we really don’t have much of a “pee smell” problem in the bathroom.
Jennifer says
Yes, I always close the toilet seat and tell everyone who uses the restroom at my house to do that as well. It definitely basically eliminates the smell. I don’t know why people don’t understand this concept. I plan on buying and remodeling a house. When I do I am going to install the flush buttons behind the seat, so people have to close the seat to press the button.
Ginny says
There is no need to constantly soak and discolor the wooden toilet seat cover with bleach or vinegar. I replaced mine with an easier to keep clean plastic one and no more urine stink!

My bathroom has indoor/outdoor carpet in it. I’ve been wanting to rip it out since we moved in hubby doesn’t think it’s needed. Our toilet has overflowed numerous times and has soaked thru to the ceiling in the basement and still he won’t replace it. I have used bottles of vinegar to get rid of the smell. It did work thank goodness now if only I could get him to aim better (which he says he doesn’t miss).
Patricia says
When we built our new home we only made one fully equipped bathroom and that’s the master with a keyless entry that only my husband and I know. The boys have a shower but the toilet is outside in their “out house”. We told our boys that when they can learn to hit the toilet they can get in-door plumbing but until then they will go outside. We live up north and they’ve had a wonderful winter, shouldn’t be long ………….

I had this problem In Our half bath… No matter what I did, it stunk… And I spent hours scrubbing it! Removed the toilet seat completely and soaked in bleach! Apparently, unbeknownst to me, one of my young men was using the plunger and putting it back. The stand, soaked, unwashed. When I finally figured it out so much relief… I had been washing the outside of it, moving it out and washing the floor, but I did not even know my son knew how to use it. These are all good suggestions for getting that pee smell out of your bathroom. I’ve got a good suggestion for keeping the seat free of piddle. This became a problem for me when my pubescent son had his friends over to our house. Once when I went to use the bathroom and was greeted with pee on the seat I came out of the bathroom and announced to the room full of boys and their fathers what I found on the toilet and that it’s a well known fact–among women, that pee on the seat is a sign of a small penis. I never again had to clean pee off the seat ?
Anna says
Spray vinegar on the toilet and floor around the toilet. Let it sit and wipe up. It nuetralizes the odor for good. It’s amazing how well it works.
Megan says
When I remodeled my main bathroom a few years ago I replaced the router with a one piece unit. So so much better and incredibly easier to clean. Even the seat snaps of so one can easily clean under and around the hinges. They cost more, probably double, but so worth it. And they look good.. At least as good as a toilet can look.
Lisa says
When I remodel my bathroom I am making the whole thing tile with a hose attachment and a drain in the middle… All boys here!
Jacquelyn H. says
I make my own all-purpose spray. Every few months I take a bunch of lemon rinds and cover them with white vinegar. I shake the container every few days for about 3 weeks. I use a fine strainer to strain out the rinds and lemon pulp pieces. This is now homemade enzyme cleaner. I pour this into a gallon size jug. If the jug is 1/4 full of vinegar I will add a dollar store bottle of isopropyl rubbing alcohol and fill it the rest of the way with water. Finally, I add about 1 TBS of tea tree oil and about 2 tsp Dawn ultra detergent or Castile soap. Put the cap on the jug and flip it upside-down once or twice to mix.
This final product is a great to pour into 32 oz spray bottles. I use this all purpose spray everyday for my kitchen (counters, stovetop, microwave, sink), my bathroom (everywhere including mirrors), and for my tile floors and linoleum. The lemon vinegar, tea tree oil, Dawn, and alcohol is super disinfecting and this is what I’ve been using for YEARS. I prefer homemade cleaner to the chemical smelling store cleaners.

Hi! This morning in the shower I kept hearing this glub, glub sound . I usually use a towel on the floor of my shower because I’m handicapped and it helps me not wobble . I put this over the drain for a short time because of the funky sound . I couldn’t tell if it’s the shower or the toilet .but now my water in the shower won’t go down . Plus the toilet seems to be just slight clogged . I used my plunger on the toilet but it goes down just not like usual . The shower water won’t go down at all . Can you help me ! PLEASE !
Patti says
Hi Patsy,
I asked my neighbor who is a plumber what the problem might be. He said it would be a clogged drain in the tub if that was the only problem but noticing a difference in the toilet can be a clogged main line. He said there’s build-up that can happen with all the products we use, shampoo, soap, detergent, cleaners….. You can try a product called “zip-it” which can be bought at the hardware store. It’s a long plastic snake with teeth and you put it in the drain as far as it can go then pull it back up. If there’s hair clogging the drain it should pull it out. You then run really hot water down the drain to clear the gunk with it. What you should never use is Drano, etc… that product and other drain cleaners will kill your pipes. If this doesn’t help with the clog and draining problem you will have to call a plumber and have them scope your main line, you could have a serious problem . Hope this helps, good luck!! Patti
PennyBunch says
Pour apple cider vinegar down the drain and let sit maybe overnight. If it’s still clogged use baking soda 1/2 cup, sprinkle in the drain then use one cup Apple cider vinegar right behind the soda It will foam and should un clog the drain
Chris says
Do not use Charmin toilet paper. It doesn’t dissolve very well and may cause ALOT of problems. We found out the hard way…
Jackie says
It could be as simple as hair blockage. A crochet hook is the best to lift out all of it onto toilet paper. Can be a bit mucky if it been like it for a while. Persevere and rinse. Tip vinegar or hydrogen peroxide down plug as extra.
Water should run away freely now.
Kim says
Suggestion number one is the key for finding where that urine ends up. You would be AMAZED at where you will find it. As a mom of 4 boys, I am convinced that it is not so much their aim, but splattering from standing up. I taught a science class at a home school co-op and we took our little light into the men’s restroom and the women’s restroom. The walls all around the toilet in the men’s restroom lit up (behind the toilet and the stall sides). The floor just around the toilet in the women’s restroom lit up. The kids were totally grossed out. It was eye-opening.
Andrea says
I HAD to comment on your post because I too had this problem. I finally figured out that the pee smell was coming from the toilet brush and holder sitting next to the toilet. I’d had it for a while and it must have been saturated. Ah!!! Problem solved. No more pee smell in my bathroom.
tori says
I feel your pain… But I only have my father living with us. I have literally cried… We only have one small restroom, and I always have to clean the toilet seat off before using. I feel like I am quarantined to my bedroom.
Joyce says
The bleach you are pouring in the toilet for cleaning is the same thing I used to do….until I married a plumber/septic tank installer. He told me that the bleach feeding into a septic tank from the toilet will kill the necessary bacteria for breaking down sewage. It results in problems with your septic tank that can lead to a lot of repairs.
michelle says
Years ago when my house was new, i went to Lowe’s and got them to cut large pieces of plexiglass sheets to put around commode area so that the walls and baseboard was protecting from the urine spray. I also had them cut smaller pieces to fit behind my kitchen sink faucets and bathroom faucets. It really works and you will barely notice the plexiglass.
Carol says
I use a steam cleaner. It gets the steam in the cracks and crevices and kills the bacteria. No smell and no masking of odors.
Ell Ess says
Some of these ideas are ok but asking boys to sit down to pee is not realistic. And getting kids to clean the bathroom isn’t going to get rid of the smell any better than adults cleaning it.
Autumn says
I know some grown men who pee sitting down because their Momma taught them too as boys. It is definitely realistic.
And having them clean up after themselves may not eliminate the smell, but it serves a great purpose in teaching them that if they prefer not to clean up a bunch of nastiness, they ought to be more careful when “using” the bathroom in the first place.
Kelly says
It is not realistic or practical….in school there are a limited number of toilets versus urinals in the boys restrooms so they need to be used to standing up. Furthermore it’s a natural thing for males to stand when they pee and I wouldn’t expect them to do the opposite. You can teach them to aim carefully and clean but don’t expect them to be completely clean as young boys. It takes time to learn and though they need to be taught responsibility you need to have reasonable expectations for them too.

Great tips! Any ideas on how to get it out of a mattress now?
CJ Hall says
Throw it away. I had a doggie door that was letting feral cats into my house. They decided to mark and pee on my sofa and love seat and the odor was so bad! Worse than human pee. We tried everything on it and the urine stopping liquids don’t work. Don’t waste your money on them. We did use Pinesol almost full strength to scrub all the exposed areas and even removed the bottom cover and scrubbed underneath, then hosed it out and let it sit out in the sun. It is okay to sit on now but you can’t fool a dog or cat’s nose and they started peeing there again. We cleaned them again and now just have them covered with plastic (right, lovely) for now until we can afford a new set. (and after all the pets are gone).
Sami Thompson says
Just FYI – I have a houseful of rescued felines along with one Rottweiler, and I learned a few years ago that the ONLY thing that worked on cat pee for us was AIP (Anti-Icky Poo is the real name, honest), which we order online from CatFaeries.com. It’s a special enzyme cleaner – the enzymes actually gobble up the urine molecules. The people are wonderful and knowledgeable; you can email them & they’ll advise you re: the best way to treat sprayed or peed on areas or feline behaviors, etc. Be sure to get the unscented version. Plus, it’s not overpriced. And no, I don’t work for them or anything. I’ve done pet rescue and managed a feral colony, so this is an area I’ve dealt with for a long time. You don’t have to put up with a stinky couch. In tough cases, you can inject the AIP deep into furniture or carpet pads. Never surrender!
Patti says
Adeline, not sure where you live but on the hottest, sunniest day you have bring that mattress outside and keep it there for the entire day. Make sure it gets full sunlight! The heat and rays from the sun will kill the germs that are causing the smell. I have an eco-cleaning service and we have cleaned many homes in all conditions. If the mattress is in really bad shape you can use a portable carpet cleaner first, then follow up with the outdoor method. This also works for dust mites and allergens. If your worried about outdoor allergens coming back in with the mattress you can vacuum the top after you bring it back inside. I personally do this 2x a year at my own home as we have severe allergies here. Hope this helps!
Allison says
I used a combo of vinegar, baking soda, and a small squirt of dish soap. Mixed it up and literally poured it on while it was foaming and worked it into the spot. Let it dry and the smell is totally gone! Good luck
Beth says
Seems like a lot of work to me and seems to be pee spraying EVERYWHERE!! My mother-in-law and my husband helped me to see than since toilets have moved indoors, standing and peeing is a very gross, labor-intensive disgusting practice!! I like to think we have evolved beyond this.
Grampa says
I am the only one who uses my bathroom and yes I do stand. Many think that it is simple to aim and shoot. It isnt. the “aim” is determined by many things including what we eat. We dont have a simple tube like a straw that is predictable. so including all the problems we must direct the solution to other things and the oder it seems is the main factor. Oder is also a result of what you eat and it may be resolved partly by what you eat. A doctor may help give you a better understanding and direct you to foods that are causing your particular odor. lastly what will eliminate the odor. I keep a spray bottle of white vinegar and spray down the floor every morning. It helps with the odor and it also whitens the grout for it kills bacteria that grow in the grout and love to feed on urine. vinegar can be had for one dollar in the dollar store. I soak it all down and close the door and leave it for a few hours. its own odor is strong at first but the lingering odor is not unpleasant and is related to food so most peoples reaction to it isn’t bad. The cost is minimal so if you are not satisfied with the results your costs wont brake the bank.

Good job, Grandpa from a grandma who has been cleaning up the bathrooms for 49 yrs. Folks, you live in another world. I don’t ask my hubby to clean toilet spills and think it would be quite emasculating to ask him to sit to pee. Not that I love cleaning bathrooms, it is my very least favorite job, but I love my husband and would not want to make him feel less masculine. Enjoy your freedom girls and cleaning help from husbands who didn’t grow up in the June Cleaver era. I did teach my girls to clean and would have done boys if I had any.
Autumn says
My Grandpa urinates sitting down. He was born in the 1930’s. He’s one of the manliest men I’ve ever known. What say you now? Sitting to urinate has nothing to do with masculinity. The point of this post is to help the cleaners of bathrooms get rid of the smell of urine.
Princess says
You tell ’em Grampa! Well said.

I had the same problem. I finally figured out that even though there is a wax seal between the toilet and the floor it wasn’t doing it’s job. I had the toilet replaced and had new caulking done around the toilet. Problem solved. It hasn’t smelled since.
Michele says
I had the exact same problem and did the same exact thing. Voìla! It was fixed. ? Happy mom again!
Barb says
The ONLY way I have found to really eliminate it is to periodically remove the toilet seat and clean under the areas where you screw it to the toilet. It’s a nasty job, but after raising 3 boys it is the only way I have found to really get rid of the smell. I agree to clean the surrounding area but get out those rubber gloves and take the seat off!! You’ll immediately see the gunk that’s responsible for making your bathroom smell!!
Susan Zander says
Our first home was 50 years old and I couldn’t get rid of the urine smell in our bathrooms no matter how well I cleaned. My mother finally suggested pouring Clorox in the tank, letting it sit for 15 min or so and then scrubbing it with the toilet bowl brush while wearing gloves. That is what finally got rid of that offensive odor.
Sharon says
Try spraying with rubbing alcohol. A tv show did an investigation on all those disposable towels we buy. They took a black light to the room after and everything was just smudged and not killed. Had them tested in a lab and you have to rub back and forth in the same spot for 5 minutes for germs to be killed. Now I use those large cotton makeup pads from the dollar store and the rubbing alcohol and no more smell. Move everything that you can away from the toilet as well and scrub that with the rubbing alcohol moist pad. The smell of rubbing alcohol dissipates as it dries. Dab a little essential oil in the inside of the toilet paper tube for a chemical free scent. Go to a store that has testers to find your favourite scent.
Stella Jaymes says
Awesome tips thank you
Jackie says
What is rubbing alcohol please?
Pat up north says
My dh complained of urine smell. His aim is good, but being a clean freak, he was swishing out the toilet bowl regularly. BUT, he replaced the brush in the holder without rinsing it off, and the holder collected smelly residue. I washed it out, taught him to rinse the brush, end of problem.
Clean Freak says
Skoe10x- Google it!
Sophie says
an ‘X’, a fly or other critter sticker on the inside of the bowl helps encourage aim (dry surface well before you stick it on)
Shea says
As a last resort find a cologne or aftershave you like the smell of and dilute it and then allow it to run under the bottom of the toilet in towards the seal. It is a place where misses many times run and cleaning pushes bacteria laden water. You can’t real
Pam says
After doing everything you can to clean and you still have that horrible strong pee odor….use a little Snuggle fabric sofner (I use my favorite wild orchid/vanilla), on a tissue to wipe all over the toilet seat, bowl, rim etc. No need to rinse, just let it air dry. It immediately gives a fresh clean scent to the bathroom and toilet. One of those “why didn’t I try this sooner” moments. The pee smell is all gone!
Cathy says
Enjo and water will get rid of the smell and the urine. No chemicals needed. The nice part is you can have the children help clean the bathroom and not worry about them being harmed by harsh chemicals.
Renatta says
There is a product out there called SKOE 10x. You can only buy it online as far as I know. It is AMAZING! I am a dog sitter & use it any time there is an accident. People are always telling me that you can not even tell I have any dogs at all because my house smells so clean. I have used it when our son became ill on a long drive back home & vomited twice in our car. Works wonders if your dog ever gets into something called “Devil’s Dung”, trust me… the name says it all! We decimated horrible urine smell in concrete in our basement that was previously used as a bathroom by 8 Chihuahuas before we bought that house & installed brand new carpet. I can go on & on, that stuff has never failed me!

“There might also be probably a big icky goooy pee under the toilet. I use a plastic knife to clean under there and scrape that stuff out.” I would be careful about digging around under the toilet. The toilet sits over the drain which carries waste away. A wax ring seals the opening in the bottom of the toilet and the drain in the floor. Guess what color that wax is. Yep. Dark yellow/brown. “A big icky goooy pee” color. If you damage that wax ring, you might have more than pee coming out from under the toilet!
Ann Merhall says
@cheri…..lol I am still laughing!
Dan says
Engineers take note of the seat-bowl gap issue.
Check for porous or absorbent surfaces. Nature’s Miracle for pet stains and odors was also effective for getting bathroom smells out of porous grout.
For our wood floor poster, sorry, but the smell may have soaked into the wood. You might talk to a flooring expert about a cleaner or neutralizer that would work without ruining the wood, but it may be best to take out the wood in the bathroom and tile it (similar to the rug in the bathroom issue, if it ever overflows, you’re dealing with extra hassle / damage).
Erika says
I spray everything with white vinegar, let it sit a little bit and then wash it off with soapy warm water. Smell is gone, pee and vinegar.
elaine leibrandt says
No one has mentioned the plastic toilet seat. After an extensive “smell” search, I found that the plastic seat was the culprit. After checking on-line for confirmation, we replaced the toilet seat.
Kym says
I agree with #9
Teach them to clean the bathroom.
When they don’t have to clean up after themselves, they don’t care what kind of mess they make.
Dad says
Look at all possible culprits. Women also pee out the crack between the seat and the bowl leaving pee running down the toilet onto the floor.
Evelyn says
I have four boys and a husband hated cleaning after them. I had a cute little urinal installed and no more pee everywhere! They are all grown up and now it is just my husband and me. Still no mess and being on a well it sure has saved on water too.
Beverly Wainio says
Really, it is probably coming from the wax ring under the toilet. Plumbing is the culprit most of the time, for continuing odors. Good luck.
Alyssa says
I was surpised to not see this in the blog post! Working in property management, that was one of the first things replaced if a smell like that didn’t go away after cleaning. Plus ripping out old caulking and redoing it.
Britt says
I have tried all the above with the exception of removing the toilet to scrub underneath (i did use a baking soda and vinegar mix sprayed around the base once and it damaged my wood floor!!!:(. And i have not yet tried to scrub under the trimwork (how do you even do that? Remove the trim?). Let me know. Its so frustrating!! I may have to take the time to do those and then caulk everything!!! What a hassle for little boys and their pee!
Judy says
I read on another blog that a solution of Suave Green Apple shampoo is effective in removing the odor. Worth a try!
