My husband, Will, was asked to review the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer GT for a week. Because we are not morons, we said yes. Here’s his honest, unbiased review!
Little Zippy. We only had it a week, but the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer GT earned this nickname with our family of nine.
Little.
Our other two vehicles are a minivan and a Suburban so while this car is a far cry from being cramped, it certainly qualifies as little around here. We easily fit two car seats in the back or five humans not requiring car seats (we have some of those now). Driving something small(er) is refreshing and fun, or maybe it’s refreshing and fun to drive around without the kids that normally accompany in the van or Suburban?
Zippy.
The 2.4 liter engine in this car does not disappoint. Luckily gas was only $1.97 per gallon that week because I pretty much kept the pedal on the floor any time we were accelerating. I like hearing children squeal in fear/excitement which brings me to cornering. The car handles as well as it accelerates – no need to slow down for the corners.
Overall, the new Lancer GT looks cool like a miniature version of one of the awesome looking Dodge cars from the front (check out the grill), and it performs well. The gas mileage is a little disappointing (we ran between 23 and 30 miles-per-gallon), but gas is cheap now so maybe I don’t care about that.
I’ve got mixed news about the price. Attention: new cars are ridiculously expensive! However, compared to other cars, this one is not outrageous. In fact, it’s quite lower than some. $21,000 for the no-options one or $27,000 for the completely pimped-out version like the one we drove.
