Looking for some Valentine’s Day party inspiration? I’m not the biggest fan of making Valentine’s Day another Christmas in February for my kids, but I do want to give them a lil’ something to celebrate the fun. I also don’t want to spend a bunch of time and money creating an elaborate “Pinterest-worthy” party for them. Instead, I headed to the Dollar Tree to see what I could find that would make for a fun party and a small gift for each of my kids.
First off, I decided to make each one a small gift basket. The Dollar Tree has adorable small stuffed animals that fit perfectly in these heart-shaped boxes. My kids are heavy into stuffed animals right now, so they are going to be thrilled.
Next I grabbed some candy, because stuffed animals + candy = epic fun. I also grabbed some cupcake liners, as I thought I could whip up come cupcakes for the party, but instead just put candy inside.
I love how most of the special occasion/holiday decorations at the Dollar Tree all coordinate so I was able to get everything I needed in one trip. I also grabbed the glitter hearts — they can be used as table decorations or a future craft project.
Last I had Kate whip up some of Emily’s Sugar Cookies. These cookies are easy to make and the kids can decorate them.
The completed gift baskets — I just stuck some Valentine’s Day suckers in each box. Each one cost less than $3 to make and my kids are going to love them.
Every party needs some activities. Here are links to games and crafts that are easy to pull off:
