Most of these deals use a Safeway double coupon, which is available at Oregon & SW Washington (Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania & Klickitat Counties) Safeways only. You can double up to 4 manufacturer’s coupons per transaction, up to 50¢ each. The double coupon is found in the weekly ad at the bottom of the middle page and look’s like this:
Safeway stores are inconsistent from store to store with their double coupon policy. The following is taken directly from Safeway’s Just4U coupon policy on their website:
Check with your local store regarding “double coupon” promotions where customers will receive double the manufacturer coupon face value off the regular or club card price up to the identified limit. Not all locations offer double coupon promotions and the terms of such promotions may differ by time and store. Limitations and restrictions for double coupon promotions may change at any time. Changes will be posted in store only. “Double coupon” promotions do not apply to any internet or digital coupons except for applicable internet printed manufacturer coupons. These explanations and restrictions on “double coupons” apply to any promotion that increases the value of a manufacturer coupon beyond its face value.

Oh brother, got DENIED for my free Bounty & .74 Philly cream cheese, at my Sherwood Safeway. Cashier informed me they don’t double internet coupons (even though all the other cashiers do & other Safeways), nor will they double if the item will be free as a result of the doubling. Boo! Time to go back to Wal-Mart. Sherwood Safeway is getting greedy now that Haagen went out of business! :{

I had the same trouble at the 39th and Powell store here in PDX. No problem at the Woodstock store.
Howard says
That’s really unfortunate. I went to the Barbur Blvd store Weds and had no trouble getting the free Bounty. That store is very liberal in doubling, and sometimes the cashier will take off $2 for the doubler regardless of the face value of the mfr cpn(s) or how many you handed in. The King City store is kind of hit and miss on who will double printables and who won’t.

Check your Redplum mailer for an extra Safeway ad with 2 different gas reward coupons. They have different dates on each of them so make sure to double check that before trying to use one.
The one that starts tomorrow is available online to load to your account as well, I’m assuming the other coupon will be available online also by 12/30.
Howard says
I didn’t get any extra ads, and I just checked and double-checked my J4U page and don’t see any fuel reward specials. Maybe just in Washington?
Brenda says
Weird. I just double checked and it’s still available for me to load to my account (.30 gas reward on a $50 purchase) so maybe it is only available in Washington. It’s not a personalized deal either, just in the regular coupons to load to your account.
Did anyone else find one in Oregon?
PS Totally jealous of you guys doubling IP coupons, it’s always such a struggle that I don’t even bother trying anymore.
Brenda says
I just talked to my sister and she said there were people on Facebook talking that Oregon did not get the gas reward coupon.
Sorry!
Howard says
For $5 Friday, Progresso soups are $1 each. There were $.50/2 cpns in both the 11-1 and 12-6 SS circulars.
Caro says
THANKS!
Howard says
Thanks for the cpn links, especially the Bounty and the sodas. The direct link for the latter cpn didn’t take me there, but I clicked on Beverages and found a $1/2 cpn on the TEN-calorie 7UP, A&W and Sunkist bottles. I printed two and will get four bottles for 13 cents each after my generous Safeway doubles them.
Brittany from Frugal Living NW says
The old soda coupon changed so I’ll update it to take you to the $1/2 coupon instead. Thanks for the heads up!
Howard says
Thanks for updating the soda deal. But it should read “Buy 2 or 4” and not “Buy 3”.
