Best gifts for babies & toddlers
Here are our favorite Christmas gifts for babies and toddlers (ages birth-2):
B. baby toys
The B. Elemenosqueeze Blocks are perfect for little hands to grab and build small towers. Isn’t there something about kids building towers and being a genius? I’m not sure, but I know they enjoy playing with these little blocks.
Don’t forget to grab these pull-back cars from B. Toys as well!
Green Toys
Green Toys are made in the USA from 100% recycled milk jugs. How cool is that?
You can’t go wrong with any of their options for toddlers. The Green Toys Seaplane and the Green Toys Tractor Vehicle (comes in orange and pink) are two of my favorites.
Bouncy Horse Hopper
These AppleRound Horse Hoppers are the BEST. Every single child loves this toy, including the almost-teenagers. Play toy, step stool, pretend elephant, launching device. This toy should last for years.
Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes
Baby Einstein has soothing music for babies and this little Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes is one of the best for taking the stroller and keeping at home.
Mini 3-in-1 Deluxe 3-Stage Ride-on Micro Scooter
This scooter from Micro Kickboard is HANDS DOWN the best scooter for little kids. He should be able to start riding it at around twelve months and keep using it until about five years old (or up to 75 pounds).
It is spendier than most on the market but the design and function is vastly superior to anything else out there AND it’s three scooters in one. Buy it.
You can read my glowing Mini Kick review here.
Fisher-Price Little People
Fisher-Price Little People have been around for years. They’ve changed the look from when they were first introduced, but definitely not the appeal.
Push Toys
Anything a toddler can push will be a winner. It doesn’t have to be fancy — you just need four wheels and a handlebar.
The Battat Shopping Cart is perfect for indoors or outdoors and has adjustable handles for different heights! The Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stroll-Along Walker is great for little ones who like toting their dolls or stuffed animals around.
Melissa & Doug Wooden Toys
This Melissa & Doug Magnetic Car Loader Wooden Toy Set is so great for little kids to pull around the house. The large wooden shapes makes it easy for little hands to maneuver.
Small Baby Doll
You don’t have to spend a bunch of money on a baby doll for a toddler. This small baby doll will do just fine and is well under $20 (and comes in several ethnicities and genders). Add this adorable pram stroller for even more fun.
Baby Toys They Will Actually Play With
I know! Buying a gift for a baby seems ridiculous but if you have a baby around 4-12 months, there are a few fun options out there.
Take advice from some seasoned moms. The Manhattan Toy Baby Whoozit or the Battat – Pop-Up Pals will be some of the only toys you’ll need.
Giraffe Teething Toy
This Vulli Sophie the Giraffe Teether is not only adorable, but it’s incredibly popular. Everyone I know with a baby raves about this little giraffe.

Hello Ladies! You have our family sold on the scooter just by the rave reviews you provided. Can’t wait to catch our 2 year old in action on it! Just wondering: what’s the best price you’ve seen on it this season? It is currently on amazon for $114. Is that a good price? Thanks for all the tips! 🙂

I’ll let Angela confirm this but I don’t believe they ever drop in price. She bought her mini-kick on Amazon too.

Which makes those gift card deals this time of the year so awesome for those things that just don’t go on sale.

The micro mini scooter is expensive but it is so worth it. It is the best kids scooter on the market.

Don’t you wish you could convince everyone in the world of this? Totally and completely worth the extra money!

We love the Micro Mini Scooter, too! We just published a Gift Guide for Balance Bikes for ages 1-2. http://www.tikesbikes.com/collections/balance-bikes-ages-1-2
Kids as young as 18 months (sometimes younger) can get on a balance bike. Our two kids were riding pedal bikes by age 3 due to balance bikes, we couldn’t recommend them more for daily outdoor play!
